Faberge' Eggs at the 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show

With all the fun we enjoyed with The Big Egg Hunt in NYC, if you missed my posts they are HERE and HERE, and should not be missed. I just adore Faberge' anything. They make jewelry now as well, which I wish it was a bit more affordable as I would purchase asap. While I visited the 2014 Philadelphia Flower Show, I was not shocked to see they had an exhibit of Faberge' eggs. Just gorgeous!!
I loved the colors on this one. So much detail on these. I would love to see how they go about making these for this show.
Just like the real eggs with lots of color and pearl looking pieces.
This one was exquisitely made
The bird here and the colors are just charming
This green one was really splendid
The two photos below show the items that were used to make these eggs. It never ceases to amaze me when I read these, such talented people indeed!

I hope you enjoyed these lovely photos of these Fabrege' inspired eggs. Are you a fan of Fabrege'? You can see the real thing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, I highly suggest you do. You will find yourself staring at them for a good while. And have a BIG smile on your face!!

Photo Gallery Thursday " Henry Ward Beecher"

A gorgeous shot of the Henry Ward Beecher statue in the courtyard of Plymouth Church in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn. This courtyard is really lovely, and if you find yourself in Brooklyn, it is a great place to add to your itinary. You can check out the history of Mr Beecher HERE , as he was their first pastor. We had the pleasure of touring the area while on the Brooklyn Neighborhood Tour , and it was a real delight. You see so many of these lovely courtyards in Brooklyn and in Manhattan, they never get old.

Entrances to the Plymouth Church buildings are on Hicks and Orange Streets in Brooklyn Heights.

The Plymouth Sanctuary (where Sunday worship services are held) is located at 57 Orange Street between Hicks and Henry Streets.

The Church Office and Plymouth Church School are located at 75 Hicks Street between Orange and Cranberry Streets.

The Underground Thrift Store entrance is at 65 Hicks Street between Orange and Cranberry Streets.

A Visit to Junior's and Irving Farm Coffee at Grand Central Terminal

I would say by now you know Grand Central Terminal is one of my favorite stops in New York City. The building itself is an architectural wonder, and the inside of shops and restaurants are fabulous! This is great if you have a group who may like different types of foods, there is something for all here.
Junior's originated in Brooklyn, and you can see my post HERE of the original restaurant, but they have a few locations in the city such as in Grand Central Terminal. This is always a great place for a bite to eat, and of course, dessert and coffee! I finally decided to go savory this time, and I was happy I did !
Matzoh Ball Soup and I think it was a half brisket sandwich which was just enough and so tasty! It is also nice to sit here and watch the commuters go by in a mad rush!
They have mini desserts too which are fabulous for sharing (or not) !

Irving Farm Coffee is a wonderful place which first began in Union Square in 1996. I am glad they have opened some additional spots in the city so it is easier to enjoy the awesome coffee and baked goods.
I just loved these coffee makers, so cool ! Their coffee is of the best quality you will find. An amazing flavor and richness.
The baked good are pretty fabulous as well. But they would have to be to go with this great coffee!!
If you could have one of everything here, that would be a great idea !

Anything peanut butter catches my eye! This is also an excellent spot to take a rest from walking all over the city, as you can purchase from any of the food vendors and then have a seat to enjoy your treasures. Be sure to visit Grand Central Terminal if you have not, you will be very happy to see what it has to offer.
My favorite. The Chrylser Building. Such a beauty!!

Window Shopping on West 57th Street

West 57th Street is a great place for walking in New York City. If you are on 5th Avenue, make a turn at West 57th, right before Bergdorf Goodman, and you will enjoy some lovely shops. The art, music and culture are very much alive here. It is a great way to head to the Columbus Circle area as well, a very fun walk. The photo above is from ZChemists, too cute, love that baby cupid, this is a drugstore like no other. Be sure to pop in and see what they have available.
The Ana Tzarey fine art gallery had some very cool work, I love the colors! I am such a HUGE color person, I think it makes you happy to look at something bright and colorful.
Big Buddha (always have to look up that darn spelling!) looking over the art work
I think this one was my favorite. I always like to get up close to paintings, especially old ones, and just stare. I do get yelled at about that at the Met from time to time, can't get too close to those Monet paintings!!
Now for a very cool jeweler. Metropolitan Antiques and Jewelry. I love the jewel shops in the city. The items are like pieces you would find in a museum, yet people can actually purchase these to take home.
Every since Diana, Princess of Wales, got that sapphire engagement ring, I have a fondness for sapphires. Blue is my favorite color, so that makes sense. That necklace is so special. I would wear it everywhere if I owned it. Even in the tub!
More cool necklaces. Which one is my fave? Yep, the colorful one in the back.
This piece reminded me of the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson's jewelry collection. Those eyes look like emeralds to me.
I loved this bracelet. It would be the one piece I would pick up for sure. If money were not an issue.

Lee's Art Shop is also here and is a MUST visit my holiday visit with them can be found HERE . Eveything you see is fabulous and they are a great shop all year round.
The Brooklyn Diner is also a fun place to stop in for a bite for breakfast, lunch or dinner
Their hot dogs are serious meals. No food for the weak here.

You can also venture to Le Parker Meridian at West 56th and 6th Avenue, either Norma's or the Burger Joint for a bite to eat, but you should have reservations as both are pretty popular. Norma's is known for it's amazing breakfasts, Open Table is your best bet for making that reservation. The Burger Joint has some of the most tasty burgers, check out their instagram for verification!! I do not believe they take reservations.
