Walk This Way Exhibit NY Historical Society Part 1

First, I apologize for the next 2 long posts. I will say, however, if you cannot get to this exhibit by October 8th, the next 2 posts will show you a good portion of it. Walk This Way: Footwear from the Stuart Weitzman Collection of Historic Shoes is a most amazing exhibit for those who loves shoes and design, as well as the history of shoe making. As many of you know, my father was a shoe repairman, and this job is rather close to my heart. He would have loved this exhibit, seeing all the various styles from many years ago to current day. Let's check out some shoes!!

These first 3 are just wonderful, I am not a big lover of heels but I think I may have been able to walk in these beauties!

The display was just lovely on the first floor - a tease of what is to come!

I am sure these were made for show and not wear, but you never know!

Just beautiful

Who would not want to wear these slippers?

How cool to have these signed by the NY Yankees in 1941

Wallis Simpson shoes
Fantastic boot and Broadway show - Kinky Boots is also a movie which you should for sure rent and enjoy!

More to come in tomorrow's post of glorious shoes!

Oh, and a very Happy Birthday today to my Dad in heaven. I hope you are having a fabulous day!
