Kimpton Hotel Eventi Review

We are back at our hotel reviews, and this one was really very good. Hotel Eventi part of the Kimpton family, was my stay in September for the chocolate tour. The reason I choose the hotel was I wanted to be near Union Square and the price was right. I have stayed at The Muse which is also a Kimpton property, so was eager to try another of their hotels in New York City.
Very nice lobby and sitting areas. I arrived about 10:15 am and my room
was ready which was wonderful.

Loved these chairs in the lobby, so fun
There are 3 restaurants in the hotel, and I enjoyed 2 of them, which will
be reviewed here as well. Amazing food!
The room was nice, rather small, good for one person however. That chair is the only chair in the room, not very comfortable, wish there was another chair but really not lots of room for one.
I love a good bathroom, and this one was fabulous. Very large, all marble,
and a nice place to put all my bathroom products.

A bit of a stain on the floor around the toilet but was very clean
Loved these scents for the shower. I couldn't decide which one
was better than the other!
The rain shower was out of this world. I need one for my
own shower at home very soon!
The bottled water in the room was named Fred, and was quite
expensive, so I opted not to try Fred.

The animal robes are just too darn cute!
The bed was pretty comfy and did have plugs to charge your phone
near as well. Every hotel should have plugs near the bed for charging
your phone, that should be mandatory.
These were the lovely views. It's what New York is all about!
Since I was there September 11th, the Empire State Building was red,
white and blue. All night. This view from my bed was everything.

Positives:
  • Free nightly wine hours
  • 4 blocks from 8 subway lines
  • 3 great restaurants within the hotel
  • Many Korean restaurants nearby
  • Complimentary refreshments in lobby
  • Beautiful lobby
  • Comfy Bed
  • 37-inch flat-screens and iPod docks
  • Large marble bathroom
  • Close to many attractions
  • Empire State Building Views
Negatives:
  • Customer service could be better for a 5 star hotel
  • If room not ready when arrive, will not call you when it is ready
  • not much nightlife nearby

Hotel prices are at their lowest in the months of January and February; their highest September and October. Sunday nights are the lowest prices for hotel rooms, in most cases. My go to places for checking prices for hotels are TrivagoTrip AdvisorHotels.com and Travelzoo. Always remember to check the hotel's website itself, they are really trying to have you book direct and sometimes offer specials or a discount with AAA that is cheaper than the websites I mentioned above. I am also finding that if you book on your mobile device, you can save some money as well. I actually got a better rate via my mobile phone than using my AAA discount online direct at the hotel. You should really do some research on your price for hotel a few different ways, and ALWAYS book a room that you can cancel, you never know what may happen in the future.

Remember to take into account for your total cost the NYC Hotel tax of 14.75% plus Daily $2.00 per room occupancy fee.

Would I reserve a night at the Kimpton Eventi again? I believe so. This hotel was very chic, and near many great places easy within walking distance. I also liked the fact you couldn't use the elevator unless you put in your room key, makes you feel pretty safe. I would go with a larger room for more than 1 person, as the room I had was small, but nicely appointed. The restaurants located within are very top notch for the foodie. This is a good choice if you are doing an event at Madison Square Garden you can walk to/from the hotel. Chelsea is close, as well as the fabulous Flatiron district. Macy's for shopping, although I am not a fan of their flagship store, and our favorite The Morgan Library is a few blocks away.

My rating for this hotel, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being perfect in every way, is a 7.

Disclosure: This stay was paid for by me. I will always state at the end of each review whether my stay was paid for by myself or if I was hosted by the hotel. I will honestly tell you about my experience at this hotel, not being swayed in any way by complimentary services. I know you value my opinion, and it is important to me to be as honest as possible. All opinions are my own. Thank you so much.
