The Flatiron District

Flatiron District, New York, NY

The Flatiron District in New York City is one of the many fabulous neighborhoods in the borough of Manhattan, named after the Flatiron Building located at 23rd Street, Broadway and Fifth Avenue. This area is known for it's wonderful character and if you have a lovely weather day, it is a great area to walk around soaking up the atmosphere. In fact, let's take a walk, shall we?
The Met Life Tower with photo made to look like something out of Mad Men! Thought this looked so cool for something built in 1911
the famous Flatiron building, built in 1902, getting a bit to look like 1975 with this shot
the area around the Flatiron building is great with tables and chairs to sit, people watch, and enjoy the vibe
the gorgeous gold sidewalk clock is a wonderful addition to the area
another gorgeous view with the gold clock in site
you can see the Empire State Building from this area and it is a nice walk from the Flatiron to the historic building if you are planning a tour
the Museum of Sex is in the area as well, located at 27th Street
Madison Square Eats is a collection of the best foods NYC has to offer in one space in Spring and Fall
Madison Square Park opened May 10, 1847, and this great statue of William H Seaward, the secretary of state who purchased Alaska, is located in the park
Madison Square Park's Shake Shack
the Gershwin Hotel, a tribute to the late Andy Warhol, is also located on 27th Street
I found these just walking around the area and thought they were just adorable
Eataly is here as well, the italian superstore, owed by Mario Batali and Lidia Bastianich

right across from Eataly, the VanLeeuwen Ice Cream Truck, if you ever see this in the city, Run to It
had to take a photo of this shoe repair shop, since my dad owned one in our town
they always have a special place in my heart and walking in one brings back great memories
La Maison du Macaron is a wonderful macaron shop where you can sit and have a drink along with something to eat. Just fabulous, there will be a full post on this shop to come.

Love your thought of the day. So true how being alone sometimes changes your perspective. I truly value my solitude to recharge.
