Holiday Cupcake Tea Star Lounge Ritz Carlton Central Park

I was lucky enough to spend my birthday in December 2009 at the Holiday Cupcake Tea and we even had Jennifer Aniston sitting right behind us!! We had the opportunity to wish her and her lady friend, Happy Holidays, and it was quite a memorable birthday for me in the city. It is definitely worth the $28 cost, no doubt. I would suggest cutting each cupcake in half and tasting the different flavors as my friend and I ate the whole cupcake and ended up leaving 2 untouched. I know I will do that for the next cupcake tea we attend. Here are some of the shots from the Christmas Tea:
how much more elegant can you get than this??? kinda like home, right? they will be doing something with chocolate and wine for Valentines Day
elegant table decorations.....what else would you expect for the Ritz ??
look at the brown and white sugar cubes!! those nutz were sooo good, I couldn't stop eating them!!
here are all 5 together....they are still serving the holiday day again this year from Dec 4 to Jan 2, 2011 Saturdays and Sundays 11am to 4pm
I am obsessed with Red Velvet ......this little guy was sooo tasty....and photogenic as well !!!
smores and pumpkin little guys ....
one of my favorite shots, like a postcard......such a wonderful birthday !!!

Empire State Building & Museum of Sex

The Empire State Building is probably one of the most famous buildings in NYC. It took me a while to take a peek at it of all the times I have visited the city...not sure why. But it sure impressed me......
this was my first view of it while on a walking tour of the village
March 17, 1930 construction began on the building
the person to the left in the brick building is actually a sculpture...pretty neat
you can read more about it's long illustrious history HERE
5th Ave and 27th street brought us to the Museum of Sex which I had read about but never saw in person
NYC has so many museums and this one even has an Aphrodisiac Cafe which sounded interesting...we did not go in the museum or cafe but I would like to check it out in the future when in that area. The cafe sounds like it would be an experience!!

Have you visited the Empire State Building? What impressed you about it? Do tell....

Jer's Peanut Butter and Chocolate at the 2010 Chocolate Show

I had the pleasure of seeing many new chocolate companies at the 2010 Chocolate Show. When I came across this one, all I saw was Peanut Butter married to Chocolate and I was in love!! They are probably my 2 favorite flavors out there......they just go so well together.
Jer's is from Solana Beach near San Diego, California and the taste is so amazing...a very homemade feel to it. They received an award at the 2009 Chocolate Show:

Cara Mella™ Climbs To The Top
Wins “Best Chocolate Bar” at the Chocolate Show in New York

Over 60 worldwide chocolatiers were in attendance at the prestigious 2009 New York Chocolate Show, and Jer’s Cara Mella™ Peanut Butter Bars received the “Best Chocolate Bar” as part of the expo’s Best In Show awards.

Jer’s Cara Mella™ Peanut Butter Bars are made with all-natural gourmet dark chocolate, homemade creamy caramel and fresh organic peanut butter (made from locally-grown Valencia peanuts, the most nutritious, peanut-sweet and protein-rich available). We’re thrilled to receive this honor from such a highly-regarded group of industry experts!

The Peanut Butter Bars are to die for !! They come in 4 flavors: Pretzel, Original, Toffee Break and Cara Mella ....you cannot go wrong with any of these if you love peanut butter

they also sell a signature line of chocolates which were very tasty as well.....assortment of white, dark and milk peanut butter truffles........

nice sample packs were available at the show but I think I prefer the 1lb. box

I am so glad I had the pleasure to attend this show...and I found out this was Les Fondues au Chocolat - how great is that......so yummy!!
