Upon a recent trip to the city, one of my finds was the Macaron Cafe in the fashion district. I am not sure exactly where I read about it as I get so many emails of things going on in the city and what to check out but it was in my little blue book for midtown area. So when you are in the area of Macy's, which has some other neat stores as well, this is a great place to pick up something sweet and a coffee. There are also salads and sandwiches to take out for lunch or light dinner. The macarons are also wonderful as a gift to take home to friends from NYC.
They are homemade upstairs from where the cafe sits and I was told they are planning a new location at East 59th Street between Madison+Park around July 2010. They are also selling their macs at the Market at the Grand Hyatt on 42 street between Lexington+Park Avenues. I also just read on the great website, Midtown Lunch, they are favored as well by Martha Stewart and have been on her show and in her magazine.
Shall we see some photos of these macs:

Thanks for this.
How great you can get macarons in NYC! I can never be too long away from my macarons ;)! Actually, Zabar's sell them as well. Didn't get a chance to try them though.
Chocolate coconut macarons sound delicious! Wish I could taste!
Kristin :)
