Macaron Cafe Madison Avenue Location

upon our trip to the city for our On Location Tour, we were walking pass the Macaron Cafe, Madison Avenue location
this dress made out of french macarons was just adorable in the window
I just love this place and since my travel partner for the day, Taylor, never had a french macaron, we had to solve that problem!!
they are something everyone should try at least once but I think after the first time, more will come
the Wedding Almond was Taylor's choice and I had the Coconut ....she was smiling pretty big as she tried it...these are a great little treat while you are walking along in the city......
just enough sweetness for more walking energy!!
they also have great packaging for taking some home to family and friends......they will love you for it!! They also have a location near Macy's as well if you happen to be in that area.

NYC Nighttime Beauty

The windows of various shops in NYC are always best at night. Usually when I visit, I am gone by 7pm which during the summer is still daylight. For my trip to attend the US Open, I was able to walk around once it got dark and do some shooting. It is so pretty at night. I hope you enjoy these photos!!
Rockefeller Center is always lite up at night...even without the Christmas tree

I never get tired of looking at her...especially at night!!

walking up to the Plaza Hotel is always a treat

pretty fountain right in front, Bergdorf's is across the street

great little seating area in front of the Plaza to rest those feet

this is what I saw when I looked up.....beautiful

it doesn't get much better than this in NYC!!
maybe it does....I am always amazed at what I see
gorgeous lights hanging in the Baccarat window

loved the colors in the Bally store
East 59th and 5th Ave ...cute place to eat outside if weather is nice

the wonderful MacarOn Cafe new location at Madison and E. 59th Street

lovely Mac trees in the window...they also have salads, sandwiches for lunch

So what did you think of NYC at night? Pretty gorgeous, isn't she? Don't be afraid to walk around at night and see the lovely sights and lights. It is all of what makes the city so special and beautiful.

M and J Trimming in Murray Hill

Upon my trip to Macy's for the flower show, I had been given an idea of a route for the day. There is an H and M store & a Sephora which would be less busy than the one on 5th Avenue but I took a walk from Macy's at their 7th Avenue exit (they have a ton of exits in this store as it is HUGE) and made a right to 36th Street. Macaron Cafe is to your right......

you can grab a macaron and coffee and be on your way

this was a great spot at Broadway and West 36th Street to sit and enjoy your macaron

the city has so many of these little rest stops - it is really great -

M and J Trimming is at 6th Ave and West 38th Street

it has been around since 1936 so you know it's good

great windows with all types of buttons and bows....

you want rhinestones?? they got rhinestones out the wazoo!!

high design jewelry ny shop had this great sign with chairs...had to take a photo as I was giggling to myself..great idea!! this place has great inexpensive jewelry that is lots of fun.

hope I have given you some ideas of where to stroll when in Macy's area. A big Thank You to Claudia from Trip Advisor for suggesting this route. Worked out wonderful and I will do it again, but with some friends with me so they can enjoy the stops along the way!!

Macaron Cafe NYC Fashion District

Upon a recent trip to the city, one of my finds was the Macaron Cafe in the fashion district. I am not sure exactly where I read about it as I get so many emails of things going on in the city and what to check out but it was in my little blue book for midtown area. So when you are in the area of Macy's, which has some other neat stores as well, this is a great place to pick up something sweet and a coffee. There are also salads and sandwiches to take out for lunch or light dinner.   The macarons are also wonderful as a gift to take home to friends from NYC.
They are homemade upstairs from where the cafe sits and I was told they are planning  a new location at East 59th Street between Madison+Park around July 2010. They are also selling their macs at the Market at the Grand Hyatt on 42 street between Lexington+Park Avenues. I also just read on the great website, Midtown Lunch, they are favored as well by Martha Stewart and have been on her show and in her magazine.
Shall we see some photos of these macs:

really cute little place

not a lot of room but adorable inside
lots of flavors to choose from
a wonderful gift box to take home to friends and family
opens like a hat box...great to hold jewelry after the macs are gone
I had chocolate coconut...very tasty...
windows were adorable as well and still in Easter
great presentation......
I always love the colors of macarons
they go well in a Easter basket .........
