The Hotel Edison

The Hotel Edison is a very historic hotel located in the theater district. Opened in 1931, the lights were turned on by "the" Thomas Edison, hence the name. It could hold 1,000 guests on 26 floors. It is Art Deco at it's finest, and I just love Art Deco everything! I was happy to pop in here prior to seeing It's Only a Play
When I walked in, I found these amazing murals. I just loved them!! They really speak Art Deco and if they sold them as prints, I would buy in a heartbeat!!

Can you find the Simpsons in this one?

Cool lobby, right?

Being a Yankee fan, this one was just pure joy!

I had to try to show you what was around the mural as it was so fabulous !!
I want one of these phones!!
Cafe Edison made an appearance in a Sex and the City episode in Season 5 as Carrie dined there. Prices seems pretty affordable for New York City, I will have to try to pop in again for a bite to eat.
I hope you enjoyed this little trip to Hotel Edison. A classic hotel which just screams New York.
