Macy's 2011 Flower Show Tabletop Villeroy and Boch

this display was really colorful and really took my attention - here are some of the details from Macy's website:

Villeroy and Boch
Villeroy and Boch's dinnerware sets the tables of the Pope, crowned royalty, households of the rich and famous, and renowned restaurants and chefs on every continent. Opulence is written all over Aureus, Villeroy & Boch's new bone china pattern. Golden filigree is lavished on the decoration colored in an aquamarine shade that stepped right off the fashion runway. Lotus blossoms have been randomly placed on plates and service pieces adding a dash of color in shades of fuchsia, tangerine and sapphire. Aureus is a modern classic representing the convergence of past and present in a design that is forever.

I was not surprised to learn these were used by the pope and royalty...they are gorgeous!!

just loved the design, flowers and color of them

Hello:
As you suggest here, they can always be relied upon for both quality and good design. And, many of their lines are very affordable.
