Consignment Shopping NYC Style

Since we just saw Pippen Vintage, I thought the next trip would be the Consignment Shops. There are many all over Manhattan and on a recent trip, I had the chance to visit just a small handful:
We are first walking on the Upper East Side, Madison near E. 80th Street to Michael's which  has been open since 1954....guess this concept isn't very new to NYC! Some of the items you will find here are Chanel, Prada, Armani, Louis Vuitton to name a few.
same area on Madison is La Boutique Resale....they have 3 locations in the city including this one and have many high name designer brands for much less than retail and in glorious conditions.
we move 3 streets over to 3rd Ave and East 84th Street to the Cancer Care Thrift ShopThe shop features a wonderful selection of clothing, jewelry and items for the home. The best part is that all proceeds benefit CancerCare's free, professional services for people with cancer and their loved ones.
loved this hat in their window as well as these great vintage dishes
Chanel pumps are looking right at me along with some great vintage necklaces
look at this great coat hanging in the window.....screams Mad Men, don't ya think?
loved this window just up from the Cancer Thrift shop ...so cute !!
we now move to Chelsea and West 17th St between 6th and 7th Avenues to the Angel Street Thrift Shop which was established in 1997 and it's proceeds benefit innovative programs for individuals and families affected by Substance Abuse, HIV/AIDS and Mental Illness.
their window was very Halloween-ish ....they also have furniture as well as art in addition to mens and womens clothing/accessories....
right across the street is Housing Works Thrift Shop which is committed to ending AIDS and homelessness...2 great causes.....
this awesome antique phone was in their window but you have to bid on the window items, from what I was told.....
these items reminded me of Henry the 8th time....very cool ..wonder what the highest bid will be for these gems?

I hope you enjoyed your tour of just "some" of the great consignment shops in the city which also can go to help great causes as well. It's a nice idea for a day if not sure what do, locate some of these shops and see what finds are yours!! You really never know what may come across your path...........

Thanks for writing this post and sharing these gems. I have donated and purchased from many of these shops and you have added more to my list.
Good stuff at a fraction of the price and the money goes to a good cause. Again, thanks for posting and educating us.
