Macy's at Herald Square "Spring is in the Air" 2010 Flower Show

We are going to start on the ground floor of Macy's for this flower show. When you walk in, the smell is just amazing! It says "spring is here" 100 times over. So the first thing I really wanted to do was get a coffee and something to eat since it was 10am. I headed to Starbucks on the main floor after I found the flower show program guide. Since I am a huge fan of Rafael Nadal, who is from Mallorca....here is a shot of him I took at the 2009 US Open:

such a cutie and great player.....very professional as well... I had to try this:

Mallorca Sweet Bread.....interesting I thought and the name got me

I wasn't going to get it but since I would be walking alot that day and I never had one...I did. It was very good. A sweet type bread with powdered sugar. Just what I needed to begin the flower show photographs!!!

at the Broadway entrance is a hot air balloon with an old fashioned wicker basket filled with flowers that spans 12 feet in diameter and is over 16 feet tall

the flowers up close....they smelled so wonderful and the colors were amazing

I loved this light with the butterflies....the lighting in the store was so hard to take shots but I did get this one, finally!!

the store really looked so beautiful

one of the sales associates told me they are sad when it is taken down

because it brings such cheer to them even working there

can you easily see why??

Michael Kors had the Woodland Garden...so pretty

Chanel had the Miniature Garden

complete with a bridge and balloons flying high

the Coach area looked amazing...flowers and purses

each spot was more beautiful than the next

more next post.........

I missed The Flower Show at Macy's this year, Rosemary, so it was good to see it here! I love the butterfly chandelier.

Where will you be in the city this weekend?

Rosemary, this is a visual treat. If I lived in NYC I would be at Macy's every single day this show was going on. I love that you've taken the time to show all of us what we're missing, and what we would love. Thank you so much.

Pat: I have a charity trip I am running for May 15th to the village drop off at Christopher Park near Bleecker. I am going to that area to check out and try to map for the driver somehow! Then heading to Chelesa Market. I will be taking lots of new shots for the blog and crumbs cupcakes home for my mom. Crumbs is our fave, it seems to be!! Hopeing the 85 degrees won't be too bad!!
