Easter Brunch at The Wayfarer NYC

My new tradition of Easter brunch with the Milliners Guild is a fun time. My friend Ellen Christine is the President and is kind enough to invite me! The above photo shows the talented ladies who make the most amazing fashion accessories for your head (not my photo). 

The Milliners Guild, Inc is an organization of small millinery business owners and milliners who specialize in the design, production and promotion of handmade headwear. The group is committed to increasing the public profile of millinery as well as the public's awareness and interest in millinery products. 

We dined this year at The Wayfarer, which is located in the Quinn Hotel, where I stayed last year for the Easter holiday. It is a great spot for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Pink champagne is a must at Easter, don't you agree?  

Here are two of the lovely ladies with their amazing headpieces!  

Raw oysters were to die for!  

Burrata cheese (which is totally amazing) with prosciutto (Italian ham) was mouth watering  

Lobster burger and fries  

Colorado lamb burger with feta cheese and truffle fries  

Some folks did breakfast items, some did lunch which is why brunch is so popular in NYC! Everything was so amazing I cannot wait to go back again!  

Espresso is a nice way to end the brunch  

Chocolate hazelnut cake for dessert  

Creme brulee made with ricotta was really delish and not overly sweet

The Milliners Guild at The Hydrangea Hurrah June 24, 2017

Milliners and guests It's that time again! Hydrangea Hurrah Saturday June 24, 2017 From 10-3 p.m The Madison Square Park Conservancy has invited the Milliners Guild to participate in their annual event "Hydrangea Hurrah" in the park again this year. The Milliners Guild is going to have a booth and will demonstrate hat making, give away paper hats and hydrangea boutonnières. President, Ellen Christine will be giving a lecture on "Mad Hatters talk about Mad Hatters" 11 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10010 Between Fifth & Madison Avenues between 23rd & 26th Streets Take the N, R, or 6 train to 23rd Street A fun day out with The Milliners Guild in Madison Square Park! Try to attend if you are in the area!

Easter Brunch with The Milliners Guild

My Easter Brunch with Ellen Christine and the Milliners Guild was a wonderful 

day. The weather was a bit on the hot side, but I enjoyed the day very much. 

Our brunch was in the Upper West Side, Trattoria Machiavelli. 

The Milliner's Guild had a Easter Parade of hats on display! 

The restaurant was very lovely 

Banana ricotta pancakes were on the menu! 

Gorgeous hat designs were on the menu as well

I was very thrilled to be included in this lovely brunch and I hope to get back to Trattoria

Milliners Guild and New York City Fire Museum Collaboration

 The Milliners Guild is a non-profit organization connecting milliners and hat lovers. They uphold the art of handmade millinery in today's market of mass production. 

In celebrating September as Textile Month in New York City, the Milliners Guild is collaborating with the Fire Museum with pieces handcrafted by members in various materials, each an individual homage to the bravery and passion of firemen throughout history. The pieces will be on display starting September 15th.  The installation will remain in place for two weeks only, housed on the gorgeous second floor of this hidden gem of a museum, amid the Turn-of-the-Century helmets and archival fire apparatus that sparked the idea for this "collection". Hats are hot stuff, and the Museum's expansive collection of international helmets and headgear lends itself to creativity.

The New York City Fire Museum is proud to be a part of this artistic city-wide effort to showcase unique approaches to the unusual, the artistic, and the innovative ways to incorporate textiles in design and history.
