It's Fall Foodie Season

I think either you love pumpkin, or your hate it. I am one of those who love it, and always glad to see it back in season. I am still not sure where the summer went, but will be glad for the milder weather coming up. There are other flavors associated with Fall, like apples, cinnamon, and maple, which I like as well.
The apple strudel found at Cafe Sabarsky is the best you will find in NYC!
I think carrot cake goes well for the season of fall, and this selection from Donna Bell's Bake Shoppe will make you very happy!
Donna Bell's cinnamon scones are to die for!
This is Donna Bell's as well, I don't think you can purchase anything here that is bad. Just not possible.
An amazing chocolate haunted house from the great chocolate shop L.A. Burdick
I really love the Libby's pumpkin cookies this time of year, they are so nice and soft, cake-like of a cookie. You can check out their recipe HERE. I like to add chocolate chips sometimes as well.

My Mom was a big fan of Cider as well, I don't have the same love for that myself.

What is your favorite food to enjoy during the Fall season ?

Would be thrilled if you gave me a follow here:

Photo Gallery Thursday "Donna Bell's Bakeshop March 2012"

I first must say, that I receive no payment from Donna Bell's Bakeshop for posting on the blog. In fact, if you do not see a disclosure at the bottom of the post, I am talking about the place on my own. There are so many great places to check out in the city, and I am thrilled to help you find some you may miss otherwise. So our trip to the city in March included a stop at Donna Bell's Bakeshop. These cuppies were just to die for, Blueberry Almond? What a great combo as I love both flavors. My only complaint would be there is no seating inside to sit and enjoy your item with a drink. There is a park nearby however and now that weather is improving, that is a grand idea. Hope your Thursday is the best day of the week!!

Photo Gallery Thursday "Donna Bell's Bakeshop Scones"

These are the most amazing scones from Donna Bell's Bakeshop. It so happens to be right where our bus drops off and picks up when we travel into the city. I was thrilled when I saw it was opening as something new and different to try. The place was opened by Pauley Perrette, as Donna Bell was her mom, along with her friends Darren and Matthew. Everything is wonderful here and we try to purchase in the morning, they hold our items for us and we pick up on our way home. The prices are reasonable and the products are so good and give you that homemade feeling. They are shipping some items in their online store HERE. The red velvet cheesecake brownies are insanely good!!!

Donna Bell's Bake Shop

Lately, my trips to the city have been pretty frequent. Like every 2 weeks frequent, my friends say I should just move there already but I find the trip always an adventure!! One of the bus companies I travel with drops us off in Hell's Kitchen near the World Wide Plaza. When I visited a few weeks ago for the vintage show, I noticed a new bakery opening right near our drop/pick up location. I was really excited because it is nice to have something new and different from Starbucks! Lucky for me, this past Saturdays trip to the city, the place was open....Donna Bell's Bake Shop .......you must take a peek....hope you are not hungry.......

the decor is just so adorable...it is very tiny and no seating inside but there is a nice park nearby when weather is nice to sit and enjoy a little something.......
I loved the mirror with the information written on it....found out the Donna Bell whom the business pays homage to was the mother of Pauley, who plays Abby on NCIS. Since I do not watch the show, had to call my mom to find out which one she was....pretty neat background on the shop.....
look at the size of these brownies!! everything is made fresh from scratch daily with all natural ingredients
I just love Cornbread and this one just looked so amazing.........
these biscuits speak for themselves and I was glad my name got on the list as well !!
I couldn't believe the thickness of these cookies....they also cater as well for the local folks in the city
I did purchase one of these blueberry bars and let me say......soo yummy! Mom and I quite enjoyed the old fashioned flavor of it .....
larger than life muffins....the one on the right is peach, looked really tasty....when I am in the city for a few days, I like to purchase some items like these and take back to my hotel. Then the next morning in the room make some coffee and have a muffin or such instead of having to head out too early. It is a nice change and also cheaper than room service as well.
more biscuits....I will be getting some of these at some point since I will be going pass here pretty regularly ( I don't know if that is good or bad but dangerous for sure)
an old fashioned chocolate cake....three layers of yumminess!!
I am really sorry to do this to you but this raspberry bar with almonds.....wow....how amazing does this look??
the last piece of strawberry cake...my friend took this one home and I assume she had a very happy rest of the weekend...look at the berries in the filling!!
they also sell savories like sandwiches, mac and cheese plus soups and casseroles...this is a must stop if you are in the Hells Kitchen area as you will not be disappointed. They use all natural ingredients as well and no high-fructose corn syrup in any of their food. Everything is made by small batches by hand for that old fashioned bakery style. They also donate all unsold food to City Harvest !!
