Throwback Thursday "Rockefeller Center 1941"

Going through my vintage photos again, I was amazed to find this one! My Auntie Ann (in the polka dot dress) in Rockefeller Center, dated 05/30/1941 ! I recognized it because of the statue, luckily she wrote on the photo where it was and the date. This is really so cool! I love the way everyone looks like they are so dressed up just walking around. Hats were such a staple in those days. I think it's cool that you can look at these photos and easily tell where it was taken. I never visited the city with my Auntie Ann, but I feel if we ever did, we would have caused a bit of trouble together!

Throwback Thursday " Vintage Aunts Photo"

I found this old photograph of my Aunts a while back, and it has remained a favorite of mine. They are all so young here, and I love the bob hair styles! To the left is the oldest of the family, Sara, who we called Ara, the middle is Anna and the lady sitting is Matilda who we called Lenny. They are my Mom's older sisters, she was born the last of a family of seven! I worked on this photo restoring it as best I could, and I think it came out very well. Mostly all my grandparents had passed away once I was born, except my father's Dad, so my aunts and uncles were like having a zillion grandparents. I was very close to them, and I am so glad I have so many wonderful vintage photos to display around my house to remember them daily. I have so many fond memories with them, and I really believe they make me who I am today. I am truly blessed.

Throwback Thursday "Grandma and Auntie Ann"

Today's Throwback Thursday is a vintage one from my family albums. My Grandma (my Mom's Mom) and my Aunt Anna going to I think a wedding in 1946. My Aunt Anna, or Auntie Ann as she was called, was the fashionable one in the family. She always told me it was hard work staying skinny in an Italian family. I love the fashion here, those amazing hats, and that purse of my Aunt's is awesome! My Aunt wore heels till the day she died. She was very tiny, just under 5 feet tall, so she felt they were a must. I never knew my Mom's Mom, which I feel terrible about, but I know if I did meet her, we would get along great!
