The flatiron district is one of my favorite areas of New York City. It is easy to get to for me, and within walking distance of midtown. The architecture is gorgeous, as well as the shops and restaurants.
Beecher's Cheese Shop opened recently, and I had to give you a peek inside.
Some history from Beecher's website:
A cheese lover since childhood, Kurt Beecher Dammeier remembers encouraging his mother to buy premium cheese at a time when processed cheese was overtaking the market; and he recalls his great-grandfather, whose first name was Beecher, purchasing Stilton by the wheel.
In 2003, Kurt put his passion for artisan cheese into action and opened the first Beecher’s shop in the heart of Seattle’s Pike Place Market. Eight years later, he took his award-winning cheeses on the road with a new cheese kitchen, café and restaurant open in New York City's Flatiron District…
There is so much selection here, they are well known for their artisan cheddar cheese
You have a great selection of salami and various meats to compliment your cheese purchases
Decisions, decisions
They claim to have the "world's best" mac and cheese, you can purchase it to take home from their fridge in the shop. My Mom loved mac and cheese, I tried to make it for her once, but didn't work out too well. I need to try this next time I am in the shop!
So much homemade goodness here, it is so nice to see and enjoy! You can see the cheeses being made right in this shop through their large windows which I think is so cool. If you are a lover of good food, and cheese in general, you really need to make a stop here when in the flatiron area.
Would be thrilled if you gave me a follow here:
