Walking around the city in December, I came across this fabulous townhouse on a really gorgeous side street. I saw it was for sale, and decided to find out about it when I got home. My new rule now when I find cool places is to make note for myself so I can tell you exactly what you are looking at! Low and behold, it was the 2013 Kips Bay Decorator Show House! How exciting!
These are some of the other townhouses on the street. Can you say "fabulous"? Yes we can!!
Here is some information with inside photos (oh my god) from the realtor selling this one-of-a-kind property, J. Roger Erikson :
This year's Kips Bay Show House is the most magnificent ever — and the townhouse can be yours. It is located at 161 East 64th Street on one of Manhattan's loveliest townhouse blocks, one filled with single family homes. 19 of the most prominent designers transformed this 20 foot wide, 5 story house with elevator, originally built in 1899, into a truly spectacular residence. Outstanding features include a state-of-the-art professional kitchen and lavish powder room on the ground floor which has not only a gorgeous planted garden, but a one-of-a-kind 2-story glass enclosed atrium. The expansive living room has soaring ceilings and the adjacent formal dining room overlooks the garden and atrium. There is a wine tasting room adjacent to the dining room. The master bedroom suite on the 3rd floor is exquisite, plus there are additional bedrooms on the 4th floor. The 5th floor has front and rear terraces, one with a gold fish pond, and a modern lounge/media room second to none.
This has to be totally amazing!!
