My Favorite Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Window 2013

Upon viewing the 2013 Bergdorf Goodman Holidays on Ice Windows, this one was my favorite.

VALENTINE’S DAY: A luminous, cave-like boudoir, its walls encrusted with pink flowers. An icicle-laden crystal chandelier. Surrounded by a lavish, pink confectionery buffet, a mannequin (dressed in Giambattista Valli) sits with feather quill at a writing desk made from ornately carved slabs of ice.

Are you very shocked? Probably not, but it was really a wonderful treat to the eye! Bergdorf's windows have to be the hands-down the most elegant of all in New York City. Hope you enjoy these photos........

A Very Happy New Year to all of you and I wish you all the best in 2014. Reach for your dreams, and do not let anyone pull you down. You are the creator of your own destiny. Make it a marvelous one!!

Pip's Place Gluten Free Bakery

Gluten free products seem to be everywhere these days. My local grocery stores have gluten free sections for those who need to have these type of products. Upon walking around the city, I came across this fabulous sign below for Pip's Place Gluten Free Bakery. The sign really interested me, and when I saw the place from the street, I knew I had to pop in! I am not a gluten free eater, but I know many would like to know of a gluten free bakery in New York City.

I really loved the decor here, the cameo-like lady on the wall, very elegant
The homemade chalk signs add a really personal touch
The baked good looked quite tasty
I didn't notice a difference with these being gluten free. This would be a good place to stop and bring items back to your hotel for breakfast if you need the gluten free variety.
Everything was very mouth watering. I did sample some items, and I must say, tasted wonderful.
Pip's Place uses 3 different flour mixes which have as many as 5 gluten free flours combined together.
They do offer delivery within the New York City area, online ordering is not yet available.
Don't these cuppies look fabulous??

Another shot of the decor, nice to sit here and window watch outside while you enjoy your goodie!

Homemade granola would make a great gift for the gluten free family member or friend.
I really liked the items ready to take home with you. Packaging very lovely to give as gifts.

Caramel Apple Shortbread
I hope if you are one of the many folks that need to eat a gluten free lifestyle, this tour of Pip's Place has helped you while traveling in New York City. For me, it was an unexpected find, and I was thrilled to pieces to be able to bring it to you!!

Henri Bendel 2013 Christmas Windows

Henri Bendel's holiday windows are always very cool. This year was no exception. The holiday windows bring to life the illustrations of Al Hirschfeld, whose drawings of celebrities & Broadway performers were viewed in the New York Times for over seventy years. He has quite a long and distinguished career.
Mr. Hirschfeld's drawings include Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Woody Allen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Carol Channing, Whoopi Goldberg, Liza Minnelli, and Bernadette Peters and they were all transformed into sculptures by Tom Carroll Scenery for the windows. I thought it was pure genius. What a fun concept, and they just brought a smile to everyone's face that had the chance to see them in person.

You know I am all for cake, fake or real!

This mouse reminded me of the little guy in Ratatouille, with his chef hat on, trying to get to that cake!!
