I had the pleasure of attending Le Taste of France on September 29th with The Marta Report and it was a great time. We were a bit concerned about weather, but it held out nicely on Saturday which was great. This event was giving all proceeds to Action Against Hunger which is a wonderful cause.
The set up had around 78 booths with fabulous food, spirits and products from France
My favorite, Financier Pastries, was there so I was quite happy indeed. My mom was as well as she had some mini eclairs and financiers to enjoy when I got home!!
the blue oven at the cooking demo area was to die for
tasty soup was poured into these mini pumpkins, great french presentation
homemade nougat from Provence en Boite in Brooklyn was amazing
the lovely folks at D'artagnan
making these amazing sandwiches
gorgeous teas with packaging from Le Palais des Thes'
the chefs chatting away
french music played as you shopped and enjoyed the cuisine
yes, that is peanut butter and jelly from Bonne Maman Preserves
hard to decide what to try at Cuisine Solutions
traditional bouillabaisse from Intercontinal Hotel
champagne is always needed at a French event, the bigger the better !!
we had to have a glass of the bubbly, of course
Petanque games seemed to be enjoyed by many
art exhibit was very cool and great talents shown
apple tarts made to perfection
Jacques Torres apple pie was fabulous
the French Bulldog Rescue was there, selling buttons for their organization and kisses for a dollar
these dogs were quite the hams and just plain old adorable !! A great cause to support.
There were over 5,000 folks who attended this great event which helps a good cause, Action Against Hunger. I would like to thank Nicolas, at Le Taste of France, for providing me with (2) tickets to attend the event. I have a feeling next year's event will be even bigger and better !!
