There have been many lists of the "best" chocolate shops in New York City. And there will be more, as there are so many wonderful artisans out there with such talent for chocolate making. New York City has some of the best food the world has to offer, and chocolate is big on that list. This is my personal list, in no particular order, (that would be very hard to do) of those you should visit while in the city:
- MarieBelle
- The Chocolate Bar NYC
- La Maison du Chocolat
- Jacques Torres Chocolate
- Dylan's Candy Bar
- LA Burdick Chocolates
- Royce Chocolates
- Neuhaus Chocolate
- Li-Lac Chocolates
- The Chocolate Room Brooklyn
What is your favorite shop in New York City? What have I missed?

Good season for chocolate, these places are amazing!!!
Stopped in to Paynard's...the macrons were to die for. Since it was a friends birthday we had to try a few of the pasties. They were delicious. I will certainly be going back. Thanks!
You can NEVER go wrong with Payard. I saw him at the Chocolate Show a few years ago and seems like a nice guy too. Glad you enjoyed!!
I'm very surprised that LA Burdick (5 East 20th) didn't make your list. Their chocolates are as good if not better than most of the places you mention, and their customer services and is unparalleled.
