Happy Valentine's Day to all!! You knew this post had to be showing some desserts, didn't you? Hope that you are celebrating with your loved ones and it's a great day. Last year I actually spent the day in NYC solo and it was a great day. There were so many valentine cakes, cupcakes and displays I took a zillion shots. My only boo-boo was not making a reservation for dinner as all restaurants were booked, even ones that are normally able to walk in and have a seat. I ended up in a nice cafe until my bus came as it was a cold day, just shows you in some cases you must plan ahead!! Here were some of my faves from that Valentine's Day in the city:
these were in Godiva's window....looked soo pretty
one of my favorite photos from La Maison du Chocolat - a chocolat ganache tart - you can purchase the ganache at the store and just make the crust and fill it and you are good to go !!!!
this is definately a different place to try ...Kamakura Minamoto Kitchoan 5th Avenue NYC - the pastry here is soo different than you will ever see and a great gift idea to take back home to family and friends
I ended up purchasing a treat and some tea as the lady was so nice about me photographing the desserts and I will say it was very good! These look interesting, don't ya think?
Across from MOMA and just so delightful with the trees all lite up ....too cold that day for anyone to sit outside however !!
Zaro's Bakery in Grand Central .....it was a great day for sweet shopping .....
Zaro's cupcakes were to die for !!! They have been in the food and baking business in NYC for over 75 years!!
Zaro's does it right !!
Did someone say Junior's Cheesecakes??
how about heart shaped ones?
another great bakery in Grand Central is Corrado and this is a chocolate truffle heart cake .....
Corrado as well...they also make these in mini size ....too cute !!!
for those who like the berry tarts, this one looks like a gem !!!
this was in the Swatch store in Times Square - I just loove swatches and they also have very cool jewelry as well - don't forget to check them out in my prior post-
LOVE sculpture by Robert Indiana, situated on the corner of 6th Avenue and 55th Street
