Happy New Year 2020

I hope you all enjoy a lovely day today on the first day of a new decade! Here is my fantastic post from my afternoon tea at the glorious Peninsula Hotel right off 5th Avenue.

The decorations were just really so lovely.

On our way up to the Gotham Lounge for our Afternoon Tea

Since it was New Year's Day, we had to do the Champagne Afternoon Tea! I will let you know, their price is about $20 cheaper than The Plaza Hotel's Champagne Tea.

CHAMPAGNE AFTERNOON TEA  77

The Gotham Lounge is a very elegant place, I loved every aspect of this place and cannot wait to go back! They only take reservations for the Afternoon Tea, you can also dine here from the all day dining menu. Seatings for the Afternoon Tea are offered daily from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

We really relaxed here for about 2 hours, never felt rushed and it was such a peaceful way to celebrate 2017!
Everything was just so elegant.  In case you didn't realize, I really like elegant.
The scones were hot and tasty, and I had a Coco Chai tea.
This is just so New York.

The sandwiches were quite good, and unique flavors.
Life does not get better than this.

Desserts were yummy, but we were pretty full by the time we got to them!
I love to use Afternoon Tea as my dinner, I try to book it later in the day, around 3pm and it works out just perfectly fine.
Being the holiday season, I was over the moon about this gingerbread hotel! A replica of the Penisula Hotel NYC was just mind blowing!

So much detail from the pastry chef!
Yes, this is the Gotham Lounge where we had our tea!

The hotel is housed in a 1905 landmark building
One of the gorgeous rooms in the hotel

I would highly suggest you visit here for Afternoon Tea, or a bite from their daily menu. A dessert and coffee would be lovely as well, it's a fantastic escape from the busy city. When you enter the Gotham Lounge, you feel like you are whisked away to a far away land! I cannot wait to get back!
