Amazing Holiday Lights Tour with On Location Tours

Spending my Christmas in New York City turned out to be pretty fabulous. The Sofitel hotel was amazing as always, and may be a regular stop each holiday! On Christmas Day, most stores and museums are closed. So you have to find some other things to do, like Radio City, St. Patrick's Cathedral OR a tour from On Location Tours! I have attended a few of their tours, and they are always wonderful. They are great for newbies to the city, to get the lay of the land before you explore on your own. When I heard they had the Holiday Lights Tour on Christmas Day, I was thrilled to work with them to attend this tour.

They start in Columbus Circle area and show you all the wonderful holiday movie locations. There are so many sights in New York City that appear in holiday films. I was thrilled to see the apartment where Buddy the Elf stays with his Dad during his visit to New York City in Elf. I just love the Elf movie, could watch it even during non-Christmas months!

These photos of the gorgeous winter owl and her babies is from Lord and Taylor, they reminded me of the owl in Harry Potter! The babies are just too darn adorable!

Lord and Taylor did a great theme with animals this year, everything was really sweet.
Most of the windows were not too crowded on Christmas Day, the bus takes you to each store and then you can get out to see them up close. It makes a very easy way to see a good portion of the holiday windows in one day.

Macy's was probably the most crowded to check out the windows. I was thrilled to see my friend Virginia O'Hanlon displayed again this year. She is just so darn cute, and I love the whole story around Is There a Santa Clause.

The New York Sun was a real newspaper, and Virginia was a real person!

Macy's other windows were cute as well, a bit harder for me to photograph, but this one came out nicely.

The next windows were Bloomingdale's and they were total glam. I just loved it.

Very, very cool

Awesome colors here !

The work that goes into the making of these windows is unreal. So many talented people that make these come to life!

I really enjoyed Bloomies efforts in 2016 for their holiday designs.

On Christmas Day, the best way to see this tree is on the bus with On Location Tours. A much nicer, safer and stress free way to see that famous tree!

Barney's windows were very interesting and fun.

Where do they get their ideas from? I would love to know!

South Park made a visit to Barney's as well and it was fabulous! They were actually talking on speakers and making a bit of fun at expensive stores just like Barneys!

I really enjoyed this tour, and it's a fabulous way to spend Christmas Day in NYC! You can check out my reviews of other tours from On Location Tours on my Unique Tours page. I have enjoyed all the tours I have taken with On Location Tours and would recommend to just about anyone.
