Holiday House NYC 2015

Holiday House Design Show was founded seven years ago by Iris Dankner to raise breast cancer awareness in the design industry. Iris is a eighteen year breast cancer survivor, and has made it her mission to raise funds for breast cancer research and women who need help fighting this disease.

In 2008, combining her two passions, namely her love of design and her efforts to help women in need, Iris created Holiday House, the first designer showhouse held in New York City to benefit a breast cancer organization. Recruiting top interior designers in the New York City area, the showhouse was held in a historic mansion on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and was a resounding success, with all proceeds donated to help the quest to end the scourge of breast cancer forever.

Since its inception, Holiday House has featured the top interior designers in the industry, received critical acclaim, been endorsed by some of the most celebrated global luxury brands, and expanded to a summer showhouse in the Hamptons. Holiday House is about the celebration of life, with each designer selecting a holiday or a special moment in life as an inspiration for their design.

This was my first time visiting the Holiday House and it did not disappoint

Located in a gorgeous mansion on East 63rd Street, you really get to see how some very wealthy New Yorkers live. I so often look at places in the city, and wonder what they look like inside!

This room was really so gorgeous, as well as the ceiling which my photo is below. I also felt many of these rooms looked very much like I could actually live in them.

I really enjoyed the blue chairs here in this design

This room was designed with much plaid, which I thought looked pretty cool

I felt like someone from Mad Men was going to come in the room with all this liquor on this table! I would say either Don or Roger would be my choices!

I loved this idea with the fireplace, as I have a real one in my parlor which I do not use to burn wood. A very fun way to decorate for the holiday season!

The very large door is just so elegant and fabulous! It would be great to have this type of door in my home!

The Holiday House is open until December 2nd, so you have time to pop in and see the neat designer rooms as well as donate to breast cancer.
