Tea Talk at 92nd St Y with Francine Segan

I have had the recent pleasure of speaking with Francine Segan, a food historian, public author and public speaker. I know that I have many foodies who read this blog, and I knew this would be of interest to you. Francine is having a Tea Class at the fabulous 92nd St Y September 17th, 2013. You will have the opportunity to taste many different varieties of teas along with yummy food as well. Francine will talk about how tea was "discovered", how it traveled around the world, about Japanese tea ceremony as well as English Afternoon Tea. She will have gorgeous antiques used for tea serving. Francine will also talk about the health benefits of various types of teas. Their will be talk about the many tea "inventions" like the funny story behind the tea bag and how to cook with tea (see Tea Eggs photo below)

Teas served are courtesy of Darlene The Tea Lover’s Archives, who will be there to answer questions on how to brew the most delicious cup of tea in the world

You can check out some of Francine's great books on her website HERE. I am particularly interested in the Dolce one of course!!

This sounds like a wonderful event for those of you who love tea and want to learn some history about it. Be sure to check out my list of top afternoon teas in New York City on the blog as well.

This would be truly educational and delicious at the same time. I would love to learn everything about teas. I love to drink tea but I just drink whatever my mood suits me. Learning about teas would be like learning about wines.
