A Leisurely Stroll through Greenwich Village

Greenwich Village, or "the village", the East Village and the West Village is such a popular New York City neighborhood. If you have asked yourself why that is so, a leisurely stroll which we will take part in today, will show you every reason. It does not make you feel like you are in New York City. You feel like you are in a small village, with little shops, gardens, and cafe's. I hope these pictures will inspire you to visit this area of the city if you have never had the pleasure, it is one lovely stroll.

after all this walking, I am quite hungry.....I think a lobster tail from Pasticceria Rocco on Bleecker Street sounds great right about now !!

Have you visited "the village"? What is your favorite part?

You're right, Rosemary, the Village does make you feel as if you're in a lovely small town anywhere ... but unlike other small towns, the "big city" is so very close, which makes it even more special! Love your photos, you've captured it's spirit so well! Have a fab week, sweet! xo ~S

I love the Jefferson Market Garden. I dedicated a post to it about a year ago. It's like a little, beautiful, calm island. I love it especially when it is blooming!

Good Morning Rosemary, Although I am English I have heard of Greenwich Village, if my memory serves me correctly it was where all the "it" people (now there's an old 60's word) lived their creative lives. People such as Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and Joni Mitchell..... you can see where my musical leanings lie.
I do love the tree lined avenues and the tall buildings look less forbidding with the beautiful trees and gardens.
Who knows what the future will hold, maybe I will get the opportunity to visit Greenwich Village and if so, I will have a list of places to visit and the Pasticceria Rocco will certainly be on my list as I would love to try a
Lobster Tail.
In England we have a beautiful borough in London called Greenwich and even though it is close to the city, this to is a leafy suburb aswell.
Enjoy your day.
Best Wishes
Daphne
