Happy Father's Day 2013

Father's Day for me is very emotional since my Dad passed away in 2004. I thought a collage would be nice and yes the little one with him is me. On days like today, I really remember all the good times with him. He had a heart condition, so we were lucky to have him as long as we did. My dad was a shoe repairmen, as you can see from one of the photos, and that was quite an art. A skill that not many have today. He would make a really run down pair of shoes look completely new. His shop was the kind people went in and socialized along with getting their shoes repaired. He is so missed by my mom and me. Being an only child, we were very close which was great. You only have one father, and if you are lucky enough to have a great one like I did, be sure to cherish them today. Spoil them like crazy. You will never regret it.

Thank you both. My Dad was a great guy, he worked magic with shoes. I always blamed him for my shoe habit!
So glad you stopped by!!

Excellent post - and excellent message...I am fortunate to still have my 71-year old father, and I am doubly fortunate that he lives close to me. I always cherish the time we spend together.

P.S. Will be visiting NYC in another week for an upcoming family vacation - can't wait! LOVE the Big Apple! :)

Very touching tribute to your Dad. My father passed away 3 years ago. Both our Fathers are greatly missed.

This is a truly beautiful post, Rosemary.
It sounds like your Dad was a wonderful man.
I lost my Dad when I was only 12 (and that was more than many years ago!!), but I truly still miss him so much.

Hi Rosemary-
It's not Dad's Day in Australia, but I would be proud to have a daughter, like you.
My two have just celebrated birthdays on Friday/Saturday and we all had a terrific time at the elder one's 30th.
You're Dad looks like the kinda guy I'd like for a friend.
Cheers,
Bob

Ro, this is a truly beautiful dedication collage. I can relate in two ways. Missing my mom terribly since she left us 7 years ago this past March and being as super close as I am with my Father. I cherish the time I have with him, especially after losing my mom. It showed me time is precious. He is for sure shining his light on your every day.

God Bless & Happy Father's Day to him.

XOXO

Maria
