A Visit to the Doughnut Plant in Chelsea

I had the pleasure of walking around Chelsea a few months ago, and came across the famous Doughnut Plant. This is the holy grail of doughnuts. Seriously. And I waited way too long to try them. Located inside the Chelsea Hotel, it is just plain fun, fun, fun
The decor is just totally awesome
These are pillows on the walls that look like the doughnuts they sell. Genius. They should actually sell them because I would buy one. Or two. Love the Yankee one!!

Some of their regular flavors are:

• Our original square yeast doughnut — filling in every bite makes them special
• Blackout — our chocolate cake doughnut, filled with chocolate pudding, dipped in chocolate glaze and sprinkled with chocolate cake crumbs.
• Tres Leches — the sweet taste of the authentic “three milks” cake, delivered in our round cake doughnut
• Carrot Cake — traditional carrot cake with lots of real carrots, raisins, walnuts and spices, with a cream cheese filling.
• Doughseeds — our mini, round filled doughnuts. Launched with our signature Creme Brûlée, flavors now include Rose (with a rose water pudding and dipped in a rose water glaze, topped with an edible rose petal), Hazelnut Chocolate, Matcha Green Tea, Peanut Butter & Blackberry Jam, Pistachio, Strawberry & Cream and Wild Blueberry & Cream.

I had the Tres Leches and it was out of this world. My friend had one of the small mini round ones but wasn't too impressed with it. I probably will try another but the one I had was a winner! Thanx

Those doughnuts look amazing! They remind me of VooDoo doughnuts in Portland, Oregon. I had never heard of them but I have been wanting to check out the Hotel Chelsea and I thought it was closed - I must add this to my next trip to the city.
