Well, yes, today is my birthday! I am spending the day with my mom at a local tea shoppe called Sugar's Tea Room. It is so much fun to enjoy tea with your mom. Since my Dad passed away in 2004, I try to enjoy every moment I have with her. She has always been very supportive of me and is always ready to give advice when needed.
I may find some cannoli at the end of the day as well. A great substitute for a birthday cake any day !!

I think it's wonderful how close you and your mom are getting after your dad passed away. Parents are so important to us, but we take them for granted all the time.
