Happy Father's Day 2011 !!

I would like to wish all the Dad's out there a very Happy Father's Day today. Since my Dad is no longer with us, he passed in 2004, I thought it would be nice to do a tribute on this day. I think my father would have been very proud of this blog and amazed by it as well. He was always positive about my photography which for me was an honor. My parents had me later in life and being a only child we were very close. Being an Italian family we had great food, Frank Sinatra playing on the radio and just really good times.
One of his jobs was at this gas station which allowed him to enjoy the great cars of the era...that's him with the sunglasses on!! I just love those old cars with the white tires.....this was much before my time but what a great era to have been in.....
he was quite handsome (maybe I am a little bias)
very much the dapper dresser! he loved clothes and wore them well
he owned/operated a shoe repair shop in our town and stayed there for 50 years! he did the best repair work you could find..such a dying breed now but still I see many in NYC!!
here he is fixing those shoes....
This is my father with my godfather on his wedding day....I would like to wish my godfather a Happy Father's Day today as well !!

Hope you all have a wonderful Father's Day & for those whose Dad's are no longer with them, like myself, remember...they are always in your heart!!

These black and white photographs are great - and great that you have such mementos of your Dad. He looks pretty cool in the first photograph.

Re blogging - I'm not sure anyone who knows me understands why I do it but it's something I enjoy doing. A good way to record thoughts and memories.

thanx Bella...I think the first photo is pretty cool...if these old photos are in good shape, they scan well and can be re-made very nicely.

I enjoy blogging to use my creative side and my photography. My love of NYC is also great to spread around to everyone!! Have a great day!!
