Baked by Melissa Grand Central

I finally decided to locate the new Baked by Melissa's and see what this whole craze is about...mini cuppies, how mini can they be?
next to the big cupcake photo is their menu of flavors...now I must say, as I had a bit of time finding them as they say it is the Grand Central Location....they are not in Grand Central, you have to go to East 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue and they need to be entered from the street. They are right next door to the Grand Hyatt entrance on East 42nd Street.
I think I actually walked right past them and headed into Grand Central....not a wise idea! I was very excited to get my cuppies.....but wow are they mini.....bite size is what I would call them.....
they fit in this little box so cute! they are just so adorable...but so tiny! great for kids parties I would say big time..........
they enjoyed their photography session....I ordered 2 each of red velvet, chocolate peanut butter cup and tye dye because they were the most different I had seen/heard of .........
I was also happy to report that at 4pm they had all flavors available
this one is just the most colorful cupcake I have ever seen....and I have seen a lot of them!!
the little red velvet.......yummy!! What was my favorite you ask? Well, the chocolate peanut butter was really the best however we really liked the icing on the red velvet. The tri-color was really fun and so different but the taste was like vanilla, good but I wanted that one more for it's different look.

So if you are in the midtown area, this is an easy location and I would have to say, these are the most original cupcakes you can take home to family and friends. I highly doubt they have ever had a little mini cupcake like these ever before, and isn't that what it's all about? Getting the oooh and ahhh's when you get home...along with those big smiles as well !!

I tried their Union Square location last summer and enjoyed it a lot. I love how tiny they are, I'm not a fan of the big ones at all, like the ones Crumbs has. I like that I can devour the whole thing in one bite... But that's me ;)
