Le Pain Quotidien

There are so many places to sit and have a wonderful latte in New York City but this one is just a real fave of mine. Le Pain Quotidien is just a great, great place for breakfast, lunch or even a light dinner. They have locations all over the world - Canada, France, Germany, Russia, Japan, Spain and United Kingdom - just to name a few. I love the communal tables in all the cafe's.

Here is some history from their website:What he wanted was so simple: bread, hearty and wholesome, with a firm slice and a good crust.Alain Coumont learned about bread as a small child, standing on a chair every Sunday watching his grandmother bake bread. As a young chef in Brussels, Alain could not find the right bread for his restaurant.Passionate about quality, he returned to his roots and opened a small bakery where he could knead flour, salt and water into the rustic loaves of his childhood. He called his bakery “Le Pain Quotidien".

when they say latte ......it is like a latte pool

they are really serious....and it's so tasty!!

almond cheese danish...omg...as good as it looks!!

for a light dinner, the tartine is wonderful..this one is roast beef with caper mayo, diced tomatoes and scallions...yummy!!(click on photo to enlarge)

they have many locations in the city so if you are walking by one and in need of a latte and  cheese almond danish...good idea to pop in and rest those feet!!
