Financier Patisserie NYC

I had read about this patisserie for quite a bit and was going crazy to try it. They have a few locations in the city and the one I was trying to get to is only open Monday thru Friday at 6th Ave @ 48th Street near Fox News. Finally going to the city on Wednesday, this was the day. My friend and I fell in love at first sight. Here is the info on the place from their website:

With multiple locations throughout Manhattan, Financier Patisserie serves and succeeds in satisfying New York’s sweet tooth. The patisserie, part of Peter Poulakakos' ever expanding restaurant empire, which includes Bayard's, Ulysses', Adrienne's Pizza Bar, Harry's Café and Harry's Steak, Harry’s Italian, and Vintry, has garnered a following of New Yorkers in the know since the 2002 opening of the flagship Stone Street location. Financier Patisserie specializes in traditional and signature French pastries while also offering an exceptional selection of espresso, coffees and savory dishes daily.

My photos cannot do this place justice but I will try. Hope you are not viewing on an empty stomach, if so...please do so at your own risk!!!

seating is outside however you are in between buildings with a cover so need need to worry about bad weather
the tables and chairs had very much a french feel to them
this is the inside..it is very small but really nice
we both had some of the best coffee we ever had
the blueberry muffin as I was told was the best ever eaten
my almond croissant was to die for...flaky and just so light
you can really feel a bit of Paris in this place...they also have wonderful things to take home already packaged......
Apple Galette anyone? Glazed apples on top of flaky puff pastry
berries tart...almond creme baked in a sweet pastry crust topped with fresh berries...the whole one in large size which serves 6-8 people is only $24.00 which I thought was quite reasonable
some mini desserts ...how adorable!!
almond brioche was almost my choice....

stay tuned for next post....more from Financier
