A whole lotta history for Christopher Park

Christopher Park is a wonderful small park in the village but it's history is quite huge. From it's humble beginning from 1633 to 1638 as a tobacco farm ...on April 5, 1837 it was the parcel was condemned and Christopher Park was created...on June 27, 1969 there was rioting on Christopher Street when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a popluar gay establishment, in order to curb liquor law violations...

very quaint and relaxing

Statute of General Sheridan - a cavalery leader in the Civil War was installed in 1936

One of George Segal's statue for Gay Liberation

Beautiful post, brings back many memories of visiting New York City and this area especially!

Great pictures. Makes me want to ask what type of camera you use (seriously, I still miss my little Sony I used until about two years ago).

I wrote down some hints regarding my camera in answer to your query on my blog. Seeing how great your pictures already are, you would have fun with an upgrade, I am sure! :-)
