2019 Grand Central Holiday Fair

I cannot believe I am starting to write holiday posts! I don't know where this year has gone, but today is the day the Grand Central Holiday Fair opens! This fair is very unique to those in Bryant Park, Columbus Circle and Union Square as it has different artisans selling their products. There will be over 40 vendors so not too big nor too small, selling items for men, woman and children. These items are a bit more on the high end side, but you will find very unique gifts. This fair has been held at Grand Central since 1993, and is a great spot to shop when looking for gifts for the holiday season.
The architecture of Grand Central is so lovely to enjoy as you enter the fair

Loved these hats with all the fun colors available
In addition to shopping at the Holiday Fair, you can purchase some great holiday treats in Grand Central as well !
Financier patisserie makes these amazing Buche de Noel - so fantastic

Rizzoli Bookstore

Happy Monday everyone! First off, I wanted to talk a little bit about the blog in 2019. I have been recently promoted in my full time job and my hours have been long and many. I do plan to still keep up this blog, as I love showing you all the great places to check out in my favorite city. I am looking for a different format for the posts, one that helps me and you as well. I wanted to showcase the photos more, so this will be the format from now on. I appreciate all who read this blog, and all the wonderful new friends I have met in the process. I hope to be posting more often, and if you are in need of a NYC fix, check out my Instagram as I post daily there.

This post is to showcase one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world, Rizzoli. They were located at West 57th street for about 50 years, and just moved to one of my favorite areas, the NoMad. I was walking by and had to pop in - what a glorious treat. The only thing missing from here would be a cafe. The decor is fantastic and this is a great place for finding that special gift book for your favorite person. The books you will find here are very unique, as well as regular titles as well. The decor is just so lovely, I love the painted ceilings and chandeliers. My kind of bookstore.

Enjoy!

The Top Museum Gift Shops in New York City

I cannot tell you enough how much I love museum gift shops. You find some of the most unique items in these shops, and lucky for us, NYC has some fantastic museums. These are the 10 which I feel you should visit when in the city, and if looking for a gift for someone, you will probably find that special gift in one of these shops. I love original gift giving, I hate giving the same old stuff everyone else has, we want original, artisan items. You can also shop at many of these wonderful places without paying the fee to enter the museum if you are just looking to shop their products. The best thing as well is most of them have online shops so you can shop from your own couch, and have it shipped to you or direct to your favorite person!

In no particular order:

1. Brooklyn Museum
2. Metropolitan Museum of Art
3. MAD Museum
4. Cooper Hewitt
5. MOMA
6. Neue Galerie
7. The Frick
8. Rubin Museum of Art
9. Museum of the City of NY
10. The Morgan Library and Museum

New York Historical Society Gift Shop

We are back at the New York Historical Society today, checking out their gift shop. I always have told you that if you are looking to shop for unique gifts in the city, museum shops are the best. You find things you will not find anywhere else and the receiver will be very happy.
Their cafe titled Parliament Espresso and Coffee has some great items, like this nutella croissant.
These necklaces just blew my mind and the prices were very reasonable. Needless to say, one did go home with me and I wear it very often.
Gorgeous selection of Tiffany products with their wonderful new Tiffany lamp exhibit. That will be featured here very shortly, it is such an amazing exhibit and one that is ongoing at the historical society.

Fun handbags
Many cool items regarding the women's movement and right to vote

This bag which features Bill Cunningham was so darn awesome! I would have loved to take it home, but I refrained myself and just went with the necklace. What a fun gift for the Bill Cunningham fan!
