My Easter weekend in New York City was quite enjoyable staying at The Quin hotel on West 57th Street. The location is quite stellar, near 5th Avenue, but close to Central Park, Columbus Circle, Carnegie Hall, various subway lines. You can really walk to most places in the city from this hotel which I just love.
The lobby is quite luxe. The hotel used to be the Buckingham Hotel, home to cultural icons such as the opera singer Giovanni Martinelli and the painter Georgia O’Keefe. The hotel was renovated in 2010, however, the elevators are still slow and tiny!

The bottled water was free which was unexpected

Gorgeous bathroom! Someone actually said on trip advisor this was small,
apparently they have not visited too many NYC hotels. This was a very
decent size for NYC standards.

Hotel prices are at their lowest in the months of January and February; their highest September and October. Sunday nights are the lowest prices for hotel rooms, in most cases. My go to places for checking prices for hotels are Trivago, Trip Advisor, Hotels.com and Travelzoo. Always remember to check the hotel's website itself, they are really trying to have you
book direct and sometimes offer specials or a discount with AAA that is cheaper than the websites I mentioned above.
I am also finding that if you book on your mobile device, you can save some money as well. I actually got a better rate via
my mobile phone than using my AAA discount online direct at the hotel. You should really do some research on your price
for hotel a few different ways, and ALWAYS book a room that you can cancel, you never know what may happen
in the future.
Remember to take into account for your total cost the NYC Hotel tax of 14.75% plus Daily $2.00 per room occupancy fee.
Would I reserve a night at the Quin Hotel again? I sure would. I would probably keep the rate under $300.00 per night. The location is really stellar, and the hotel itself is quite lovely. I had an issue with opening my safe and they sent someone up
right away who was very helpful. The next day they called me to be sure the safe was working properly. They do not have
ice machines on the floors, you have to call for it to be brought to you. I was a bit disappointed they didn't bring me any
welcome desserts as other hotels have done in the past. I find bathrooms very important in my stay, and this one was one
of the best I have had from all the hotels I have visited. I love being able to walk everywhere, and cabs are easy to pick up
on 5th Avenue or Columbus Circle. There are many restaurants close to the hotel as well, and having Duane Reade 24/7
across the street is wonderful if you forgot something at home.
My rating for this hotel, on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being perfect in every way, is an 8.
