Sadness Knows No Boundaries

Hearing about the news of Kate Spade on Tuesday, June 5th, I got chills. Even though she had sold the brand itself, she was still the pioneer of a brand I have known and loved for a long time. Walking in her stores in New York City made me smile, everything was full of glitter. My work coffee mug says "Glitter is my favorite color" from the Kate Spade line. I was just so very sad that she was suffering in such a way. Then on Friday we get the news about Anthony Bourdain, and I again got chills. My Mom was a huge fan of his shows, and told me about him, which is why I watched him today. People spoke about the fact that he had the "perfect" job, traveling around the world but nothing is ever "perfect". I knew he had issues with substance abuse, but it still was quite a shock none the less. Two very talented people in their respective careers, with so much to live for.

I often wonder the craziness of this world. We all really need to be nice to one another. Everyone is so quick to gossip about others, showing their so-called perfect life on social media - no one's life is perfect. I was very fortunate to have parents that were very good to me, and I have wonderful memories of our family life. I understand not everyone is so lucky. We need to be able to appreciate the little things in life, and not let silly things make us upset. Our life is a short one on this planet, and we all need to make the best of it. I try to do my meditation daily, remove those from my life who are not a positive influence and do the things I enjoy.

I am going to try to enjoy my life more, do the things I love such as visiting New York City and eat great food. Travel as much as I can, smile, sit in a cafe and just watch people. There are so many things we let annoy us that just do not matter when you look at the big picture. Life should be a wonderful journey and we should embrace that journey as much as we can.

Yes, it can sometimes be difficult, but you are not alone in dealing with adversity and there is help out there. The world is not better without you, it is better because of you.

Kate Spade on Madison Avenue

I am not sure how many of you follow my Instagram account, if you do not, I would be highly honored if you did! I believe I showed some of these photos on that site but wanted to show all to you since they were pretty cool. I am a fan of Kate Spade and wanted to check out her townhouse shop on Madison Avenue near 68th Street. I was hoping for some unique items that only this shop would have, but they didn't have very many available. They have an elevator, and since I am not a fan of steps, I was thrilled! I didn't expect a fancy couch with a "ooh la la" pillow in the elevator, it so made me smile!!

These photos were taken with my phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which has a really great camera. I like to use it when I am trying to be quick shooting and it works great every time. I really loved the dinnerware she was showing. I love the fact that her designs make you smile. We all need that at least once a day!

Fun, right? Hard to decide to purchase just one of these as they both are adorable!
The whole townhouse is just fun and the way everything is displayed is perfect. If you open that door, and go on the balcony, this is your view:
Pretty relaxing, don't you think? And Michael Kors is just down below. I hear most of the shopping by the celebrity clients is on Madison Avenue, as it is less busy than 5th Avenue. When I was at this shop, it was pretty empty so I was able to look around with ease.

Are you a Kate Spade fan?
