Merry Christmas 2020

I think can safely say 2020 has been a year like no other (and hopefully NEVER again). Thank goodness this is just a temporary issue, and I am already looking online for NYC hotels to book in 2021. I realize for many of you, this will be a holiday without your family and friends, and that can be hard. But we should be grateful we have the ability to visit with them via face chat. This will be my first time in 4 years not spending it in the city, and waking up Christmas morning to those gorgeous views.  For those of you having a difficult time, know that you are loved and thought of each day. It will get better. I wish you all the best Christmas, appreciate you reading this blog of my favorite city, and look forward to sharing more with you in 2021. NYC will be back better than ever.

You can see more frequent posts on my Instagram account, please give a follow there, and say "hello". I would love to hear from you.

You are all the most wonderful people and I am so grateful for you!

All my best,
Rosemary

2014 Gingerbread Houses at Parker New York

One of my most FAVORITE posts, I just LOVE gingerbread houses - hope you enjoy !! The Breakfast at Tiffany's is my favorite but very hard to choose!!

City Harvest presents the Gingerbread Extravaganza, an annual winter celebration of gingerbread across New York City. We invite you to vote for your favorite gingerbread structure and taste delicious treats around the city!
View incredible gingerbread structures inspired by the theme of “Made in New York” in the atrium of Le Parker Meridien as well as at select locations around the city. Vote for your favorite by donating to City Harvest to help feed hungry New Yorkers, with every $1 counting as one vote as well as one chance for you to win a 5-night stay at the Parker Palm Springs. The creation with the most votes will receive the People’s Choice Award in January.
Restaurant partners around the city are offering special menu items in celebration of the Gingerbread Extravaganza, with proceeds benefitting City Harvest. Be sure to taste these special holiday treats!

Merry Christmas

I thought for Christmas Day we would look at some of the lovely trees found throughout the city. This one is from the Park Central Hotel, where I used to say when attending the US Open. I may do an overnight next year to see if it is still a good spot to stay.
Across from the Park Central is the Wellington Hotel. This hotel would not be on my list to stay, but I wanted to pop in the lobby to see their tree. This is always a fun thing to do when visiting during the holiday season.
The lobby was quite lovely, huge chandelier was pretty impressive. This is a very old hotel, built in 1902, which was a reason why I wanted to pop in the lobby.
Very pretty indeed, they sure do have the holiday spirit!
This shot was from the tree in the Quinn Central Park by Hilton Club. There will be another review from this hotel, which was just purchased by Hilton but will stay a hotel. The hotel will be part co-ops with Hilton Club mixed with regular hotel rooms.
Gorgeous tree located at 6th Avenue
The tree in front of the Hilton Hotel on 6th Avenue
The famous black and white cookies become red and white for the holidays
Just a lovely tree on West 57th street decorated with succulents!
A very beautiful tree found on the Upper West Side

I hope that you and your family have a most glorious Christmas Day. Thank you so much for visiting the blog as it is much appreciated! New York City is truly a magical place, especially during the holiday season.

Union Square Holiday Market A Must Stop

I had not been to the Union Square Holiday Market in quite some time. I was able to stop by on a Sunday, when it wasn't quite too crowded, to see what they had to offer. These markets are really nice because many items are made right in New York City, and are very unique. I am a big unique gift giver, I hate giving the same thing everyone else is receiving.

You will find a large variety of items here, for men/women/children.

I loved how they had different sections based on where the products were made
I LOVED this booth, everything had such great color!

I found this seller last year on Christmas Day, and purchased one of the bags. I love it because it is so colorful and has many pockets to hold things, great for travel.

The round one was new from last year, so darn adorable!

Love the bags from Pamela Barsky!

This was another cool shop, very unique items for purchase.

Citi had some great features at the market, like this lounge, for enjoying a bite to eat

I had a yummy empanada with chicken and coconut, it was really tasty!
Citi also had an area for charging your phone and giving out free hot chocolate.

The hot chocolate was delish and it was a nice touch from Citi
I love seeing charging stations

This was another real fave of mine, I had to be really good not to purchase anything! It was very difficult!

I loved these lights! So darn fabulous!

Lucid New York had their fabulous snowflake necklaces and some new bracelets below which I thought were very nice.

United Chocolate Works makes chocolate items that do not look like chocolate at all!

Decisions are hard to make at this market!

The amazing No Chewing Allowed was here, their truffles are just magical!

I LOVED this display of ties! Very clever indeed!

2018 Holiday Market | November 15th – December 24th

10:00AM to 8:00PM on Saturdays

You can check out the Vendor Page to see some of these vendors websites, many of them do sell their items online that can be shipped.
