Maison Kayser A New York City Favorite

We needed another stop in Maison Kayser, one of my favorite spots in the city! They have been opening more cafe's lately which is awesome, it is a unique place for a small bite to eat - breakfast, lunch or a light dinner - I adore the place. This time I tried something different, baked eggs with bechamel sauce and spinach. It was totally divine! Their iced lattes are the best as well and their pastry is legendary! If you see one of these while walking around the city, pop in and enjoy something French and fabulous!!

Visitors to Versailles Part 3

We are back with the last installment of the Visitors to Versailles exhibit at The Met. I just love this painting of Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI - just fantastic!

I love the ribbons in her hair
The gorgeous blue color in this tureen and stand

This was very cool with Louis XVI and Ben Franklin

How neat that we have a passport issued to Thomas Jefferson! Interesting there was no photo although I am not sure how advanced the photography was at that time.

How can you not love this chair?

Such a gorgeous fan with Versailles design
This was beautiful and very hard to photograph. I ended up getting it with my Samsung Galaxy S7 as the lighting was very tricky. It is so lovely I had to try to show it to you!

The gift shop for this exhibit was nothing but amazing, but how could it not be?

Fantastic selection of Marie Antoinette books, which are not all available online so if you see something you like at the exhibit, purchase at that time.

These were the gifts from that wonderful door with gold design. They make wonderful gift items for sure, for a friend or yourself!

I hope I did't bore you this week, but this exhibit was really done so well, I had to show you as much as possible! Be sure to stop and see it in person, it is worth the effort.

Visitors to Versailles Part 2

We are now heading to the Part 2 of Visitors to Versailles (1682-1789) and it just keeps getting better! The exhibition stretches across 12 galleries—organized thematically—connected with aligned doorways and designed to evoke the Baroque style of the Versailles palace. Just as it is today, Versailles was one of the most visited places in the world during the height of Louis XIV’s reign. This really is a MUST see exhibit if you are in the city before it closes July 29, 2018.

I just LOVE the chair above, it is so grand and gorgeous!

The costumes are really fantastic and so cool to see in person

I LOVED, LOVED this model of the Ambassador's Staircase - the detail here is just mind-blowing and I have to say, I looked at it for quite a while before I walked away. It is truly a beautiful piece.

It doesn't get much better than this, or does it ?

The 3 Louis kings beautiful sculptures

A gorgeous french fan

This piece of furniture was just fantastic!

I loved both of these items - so classic and elegant

This is a most amazing piece of history that we still have today to enjoy!

I had no idea what a Quiver was before I saw this, and I have to say, if I can get one like this adorned with jewels, I will take it! Totally amazing piece of work.

The detail is mind-blowing!

This flax was just wonderful as well

Ahh, my favorite Marie Antoinette and Louis XVI - a real treat for me as I am fascinated with everything Marie Antoinette.

She was quite a beauty.

Beautiful pieces of furniture on view

RUN to see this exhibit, it is so worth your time and money. The last installment will be tomorrow and will be just as fabulous as the first 2 - trust me. You need to visit The MET prior to this closing!
