Farmer's Market at Rock Center July 26 – September 1, 2017

I am so thrilled the Farmer's Market in Rockefeller Center is back on! It's wonderful if you are visiting the city, great way to purchase some fresh baked goods or veggies to take back home. I love the fact that NYC has many of these markets all year round. The prices are always fantastic and you are receiving the most fresh products you will ever find!

The Farmers Market returns to Rockefeller Center Wednesday, July 26 through September 1, Wednesday - Friday each week from 8am - 5pm. Stop by to pick up specialty products from regional farms including fresh produce, meat, eggs, flowers, baked goods, cheese, wine and more!

The market is organized by the GrowNYC Greenmarket and is open to the public.

Baked goods at Farmer's Markets are always the most tasty!

So many gorgeous colors of vegetables!!

Photo Gallery Thursday "Farmer's Markets"

The best part of summer are farmer's markets. In NYC, they have many all year round, like the Union Square Green Market. In my town, we have some that run from the mid-summer to early November. It is such a difference to cook with fresh vegetables and you can taste the flavor. In most cases, the items are cheaper than in the supermarket, and they are just so much better. Do you shop at the local farmer's markets? What is your favorite item to purchase? I always love the fresh honey you can find at most of these markets. Pure heaven!!

Photo Gallery Thursday " Concord Grapes"

These grapes were found at a local farmers market. I just love the look of them, and they take such a darn nice photograph! Jelly or wine would be what I would make with these lovelies!
What would you make with them?

Photo Gallery Thursday " Fresh Herbs"

This time of year, the farmer's markets are back in swing. The markets where I live in Pennsylvania, start kind of late, but they go until November. In New York City, farmer's markets are year-round which is wonderful to obtain the freshest produce, herbs like above, and meats. I love fresh herbs in cooking, but sometimes find it hard to keep them for a longer period of time. We used to grow our own when my Dad was alive, he really liked the garden, he also grew tomatoes and zucchini.

What do you have growing in your garden?

Local Farmers Market Photography

I really am a huge fan of the fall season. I recently purchased a new canon lens for my camera, and felt the need to try it out at our local farmers market. Farmer's Markets are so great because you purchase the products so fresh and prices cannot be beat. Unfortunately, in our area, it is not year-round. They usually close up around November, but in New York City, they have many that run all year. Many of the restaurants shop there for their ingredients which is so fabulous. I hope you enjoy these shots of fall and I think the new lens did very well !

I will be heading to the Taste of France today, and should have some fabulous photos to share with you. There is still time to get your tickets online, and you can check out my post HERE for a discount code as well. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!!
