Merry Christmas from New York City

I thought it would be fun this Christmas Day to spend it in New York City! Come with me as we enjoy the lights, sights and foods to be celebrated on this day. We start at the Peninsula Hotel, heading out after a good nights sleep..........
How can you not LOVE their gingerbread house of the hotel ? So fantastic
Breakfast is calling on this Christmas Day, so we head to Financier Patisserie, one of my faves for a Almond Brioche and a wonderful latte......now off walking we go.......
Ahh, the front of Trump Tower with many stars all over the building looks so pretty
The BEST holiday windows, in my opinion, are Bergdorf Goodman. We have seen so many of the major stores close this year like Henri Bendel and Barneys, but Bergdorf's is a staple. A great way to see the windows is with the Holiday Lights and Movie Sites tour with On Location Tours, this is available on Christmas Day, when there is very little to do in the city.

Upon viewing this gorgeous jewel tree in Bergdorf's window, I bought one for myself on Etsy. So darn fantastic, I keep it up all year round!
Walking some more, the big snowflake dangling from the sky....always so pretty ....I am getting hungry for some lunch, what about you ?
Cartier....now this is just gorgeous but I am still thinking what to do for lunch on Christmas Day?
Did someone suggest Afternoon Tea at the Plaza Hotel? They are closed Christmas Day but you can do the festive tea any time prior or after.
These little sandwiches look so yummy....I must thank the person who suggested this today.......
Dessert collection has ...cannolis flavored with gingerbread in the ricotta filling......it does feel like Christmas now, for sure!!
Toy Soldiers are all at attention looking very regal .........
The Fendi store always looks so lovely during Christmas season
The famous Radio City Music Hall ..........
Rockefeller Center is lighted so beautiful this time of year....you can hear the Christmas tunes, can't you?
the oh-so-pretty angel.........
the famous tree itself which you can view very easily from the On Location Tours holiday tour which I prefer than dealing with the crowds
Ahh, finally a place to sit and rest my feet.....dinner will be at Bryant Park Grill which is so festive during the holiday season!
Crab cakes are one of my favorites
Mushroom ravioli is so delish
we are back at the hotel now.........
admiring their gorgeous Christmas tree and heading back to our room for a good night sleep in the big apple...........

Hope you all have a most wonderful Christmas with family, friends, good food and memories made to last a lifetime...........

Throwback Thursday " 1952 New York"

I found this wonderful photo of model Doris Erwin walking down 5th Avenue in September of 1952. From what I see on the store behind here, it looks like Bergdorf Goodman! When I saw this photo, it reminded me of the wonderful new show on Amazon titled "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" which I am obsessed. The show is just amazing, it is so cool to see New York in the 1950's - the fashion, the cars, the restaurants - I cannot wait for Season 2. If you have not watched it yet, trust me, it is one you want to see more than once!

Christmas in New York City

I cannot believe it is Christmas Week! This year has really just flown by. I thought it would be nice to show you some of the photos I have taken through the years in the city during the holiday season. It is always quite festive but the crowds really drive me a bit crazy. I try to stay away from Rockefeller Center area as that is where the crowds are the most. The other areas may be busy, but not as bad as near that famous tree. There are so many gorgeous trees in the city, like the one above I found in the Lladro boutique. I hope you enjoy these photographs!
