Bourke Street Bakery is located in one of my favorite areas, NoMad, and originates from Australia. I was very excited to visit, and since they opened May of this year, I was not disappointed. Famous for their lamb with harissa sausage rolls and ginger tarts, it is recommended to visit on an off hour, not lunchtime.
The cases were filled with sweet and savory treats - my eyes were smiling
Those mini meringue tarts were so perfect
The savory items are just as wonderful as the sweets, their breads are all fresh made on site
My first visit in May I couldn't try the sausage roll as they were sold out. When I was in the city for the fourth of July holiday, staying at the Evelyn hotel was so fabulous as only 1 block from the bakery! I was so thrilled to get one of these that everyone is talking about.
I can't even begin to explain, but the flavor and taste was just over-the-top! The dough was very light, not like a pie dough and this went down so easy. Worth to wait in the line which may be outside when you arrive.
I tried one of these as well but was disappointed that I didn't taste any peanut butter - would not be my choice when visiting again
The chocolate tart which is a chocolate lovers dream
More of their savory items - yummy - There is some seating inside but on a lovely day, you can take your lunch/dinner/snack to Madison Square Park and enjoy on a park bench!
The ginger tart was pretty much perfect - a creme brulee type of topping with a fantastic crunch
Heaven right in front of you !
Maple. Bacon, Danish. Life is good.
Run to this place when in the area of the fantastic NoMad (north of Madison) and you will be one very happy person. Your welcome!
