The Morgan Dining Room within the Morgan Library and Museum is a wonderful dining spot. They usually have special menus for Mother's Day and other holidays. I decided to spend my Easter Sunday there this year and it was lovely. It's a small space, nice to relax and enjoy good food. The setting is so lovely you feel like you are dining with Mr. Morgan himself!
They had an Easter menu for the whole weekend and I chose:
Smoked Salmon & Avocado Mousse with Sturgeon Caviar
Warm Breakfast Bread Basket
Seared Wild Bass
Rhubarb Cheesecake with Almond Crumble
Sparkling Aperitif
This was $49.00 in addition to your tip which I thought was very reasonable
I loved the glass the champagne was served in
This was just totally delish and so different. I love to try new things especially when in the city.
The sea bass was great except my first one was undercooked. I hate giving things back in restaurants but I couldn't eat it. They were very kind and brought me a whole new piece that was cooked correctly.
I thought the dessert was a bit underwhelming. I wanted to try rhubarb as never had before, it reminded me of strawberry which I am not a fan, so I wouldn't do that again. The cheesecake part was good, and it was a light dessert at the end of the meal.
Wonderful chocolate bunnies from Michel Cluizel which is a few streets down from the Morgan Library
If you are in the city for a holiday, and are looking for somewhere unique to dine, consider the Morgan Dining Room. It is a lovely spot and the food is tasty, prices are very reasonable.
