Tuesday's Quote of the Day for September 30, 2014

This is another great quote, and one it took me many years to actually put into place. But I promise you, when you do that, your life is just so much easier. No more drama. My school counselor told me if you could count on 1 hand your true friends, you are very lucky. I now understand. Quality over Quantity.

Have a most extra fabulous day today everyone!!

Laduree Soho Review

As you all know, going to New York City a few times a month, I still have places on my list I need to visit. The famous Paris-born pâtisserie/cafe’s first American restaurant opened in 2011 and has been receiving mixed reviews. I always like to form my own opinion, and I tell my readers to do the same. I was quite excited and had my reservation via my favorite place, Open Table
The famous cup and menu were beautiful. For some reason, they couldn't find my reservation and I advised it was via OpenTable. They didn't seem to care as the place was not crowded, which I thought was odd for a Saturday afternoon. They have 2 dining rooms as well as a beautiful outdoor garden. I wasn't offered garden seating, even though there were seats available.
The interior is pretty over the top but that is what they are known for. Just lovely.
I was really disappointed in a family behind me, 2 small daughters and a Mother, who were loud beyond loud. The daughters were small, and loud and obnoxious. The Mother didn't seem to care to discipline them at all. This restaurant is very high end, and for people to come and pay the money it costs to dine here, they should not have to deal with unruly children. The little girl in my photo below was very well behaved as well as some older children that were eating, fabulous. But this family, being right behind me, kind of ruined the atmosphere for me. Even 2 young girls sitting next to me said "Why would they bring them here if they can't behave?" so I knew it wasn't just me.

Okay, on to the food. I had the Laduree Omelett which consisted of mushrooms, cheese, ham, tomatoes, onions, fresh cream and fine herbs. It was okay, I wasn't rocked out with it or anything. It was very big, but for $16.00, it should be tasty as well as large.
Laduree is just like a painting, don't you think ?
My waiter was new, so I will give him that much, but seemed like didn't get receive a whole lot of training. My food came before my tea, which was odd I had to ask him for my tea. I choose Thé Chéri delicate blend of black tea, cocoa, caramel and vanilla and it was really very tasty.
Elegant decor for sure.

A chocolate St Honore' was my dessert choice as I wanted something I had never tried before. This was to die for and just really out of this world. I had wanted a Mont Blanc but of course my waiter had no idea what it was, and then came back to say they didn't have any today.
The other tea room which was empty as empty could be.

In the front counter you can purchase items, desserts and macarons.

My thoughts here are that I would not head down to Soho just to eat here. I can get their macarons in the Upper East Side location, and for savory, I really prefer Maison Kayser. The breakfast I had there a few weeks ago really made me happy as a clam. I feel these upscale places need to be perfect, there should be no issues, because you are paying for perfection. Oh, and the next day Open Table emailed me if I didn't keep my reservation at Laduree Soho. They are very strict as if you are not going to use the reservation, you need to cancel. I think it's a good policy, but when the restaurant doesn't care to look for your reservation, that can be an issue. I advised them I was there, and they will research for me.

Have any of you been to this location? What were your thoughts ?

Photo Gallery Thursday "MarieBelle Hot Chocolate"

I have to say fall is probably my favorite season. Spring is pretty up there as well, the humidity of summer is just not my friend. I love the fact that it is getting to be hot chocolate season again, and there are so many fabulous choices in New York City. How do you like your hot chocolate? Whip cream, a bit of kahula perhaps? Do tell ........

Kate Spade Townhouse on Madison Avenue

I am not sure how many of you follow my Instagram account, if you do not, I would be highly honored if you did! I believe I showed some of these photos on that site but wanted to show all to you since they were pretty cool. I am a fan of Kate Spade and wanted to check out her new townhouse shop on Madison Avenue near 68th Street. I was hoping for some unique items that only this shop would have, but they didn't have very many available. They have an elevator, and since I am not a fan of steps, I was thrilled! I didn't expect a fancy couch with a "ooh la la" pillow in the elevator, it so made me smile!!

These photos were taken with my phone, Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which has a really great camera. I like to use it when I am trying to be quick shooting and it works great every time. I really loved the dinnerware she was showing. I love the fact that her designs make you smile. We all need that at least once a day!

Fun, right? Hard to decide to purchase just one of these as they both are adorable!
The whole townhouse is just fun and the way everything is displayed is perfect. If you open that door, and go on the balcony, this is your view:
Pretty relaxing, don't you think? And Michael Kors is just down below. I hear most of the shopping by the celebrity clients is on Madison Avenue, as it is less busy than 5th Avenue. When I was at this shop, it was pretty empty so I was able to look around with ease.

Are you a Kate Spade fan?
