This week, Kiehl’s Since 1851 hosts a unique event for the New York community—particularly New York fans of comics—and I hoped you might be interested in covering it, or perhaps including it in your calendar. It’s a celebration of Kiehl’s partnership with Marvel and Captain America, as well as the launch of our first “Third Thursday” –a new event series at our Flagship store on 13th and 3rd.
Since our inception in 1851, Kiehl’s has remained on the same corner, providing magical elixirs to its patrons, while also serving as a real community destination for the East Village. In tune with our generous sampling background, this event series, which will be on the Third Thursday of every month, is open to the public, will feature something special each time, and have a focus on complementary skincare consultations and sampling.
To kick things off, we’re offering an inside look at how a comic book comes to life, this Thursday, June 20.
You might have heard that Kiehl’s has just launched its brand new Facial Fuel “Heavy Lifting” Firming, Lifting, Anti-Wrinkle Moisturizer for Men--an innovative dual-action, anti-aging cream formulated specifically for men’s tough skin--with a partnership with Marvel Custom Solutions.
Kiehl’s and Marvel have teamed up and enlisted Captain America for a Limited Edition Comic Book that delivers an action-packed adventure set in Kiehl’s historic New York Flagship store. The 12-page story, set in Kiehl’s apothecary in Manhattan’s East Village, not only weaves in characters from Kiehl’s past and present, but also features the legendary Avenger in dramatic conflict with Cobra, a sinister mercenary attempting to steal artifacts that may have been used to transform skinny Steve Rogers into the muscular Super Soldier.
Captain America is also be featured in Kiehl’s in-store displays and on Kiehls.com, and the Limited Edition Captain America Comic Book will be available complimentary with any Kiehl’s purchase, through July 1, while supplies last.
In honor of this partnership, Kiehl’s is hosting an evening to share the story of this collaboration from the inside out. We hope all will join us to experience a comic in the making!
