Serafina has about 7 locations in and around New York City.....this location was decorated nice for the holiday.
My friend and I decided to give the location at the Time Hotel, 49th and Broadway, a try, since it was near our bus pick up at the end of the day. I always like to have dinner near our bus pick up, so we do not have to make a mad rush to get there. The buses wait for no one, and being 5 minutes late is not allowed.
The decor is very nice, bathrooms were actually in the hotel so you had to go up an elevator to get to them.
very cozy Italian restaurant feel to it
we had bruschetta first, which was very good and tasty
I had the risotto of the day, and I must say, it was not cooked correctly. To me, if you are in an Italian restaurant, and they cannot cook this properly, it is not a good sign.
My friend's fish dinner was very tasty, and she ate everything on her plate.
Sorbet for dessert was a nice light touch after this meal
The chocolate lava cake was really to die for and the plate presentation was beautiful
Would I eat here again, not sure. I would like to try another location, I think, to see if they know how to cook risotto. Being Italian myself, 100% to be specific, it really bothers me when you are in a Italian restaurant, and they cannot make a real Italian item correctly. Risotto can be complicated to make, and if you cannot make it properly, don't offer it on the menu. They offer many pizzas on the menu and they looked pretty good from what I saw next to us. All in all, it was a decent dinner, and like I stated, I would like to try some other locations for a different experience.
