I had heard about this new place called Caffe'Bene near the Crown Plaza Times Square hotel via NY Times. Since this is an area where I frequent, I was pretty excited. It is the first American cafe from a South Korean franchise, that has opened over 700 stores in 4 years.
These looked pretty nice. Most items are in bins and you help yourself. The place was really, really busy and with it's location, I can see why. I know breakfast at the Crowne Plaza is not cheap, so this is a great alternative.
Wonderful little coffee cakes were talking to me personally
These little mini tarts were adorable. I liked the fact that most items were in a small size. Just enough for breakfast with some fruit, coffee or a light snack.
These danish looked really nice indeed and I like the square design on the 2 outer choices
Ahh pecan buns, what a beautiful thing. And again, these were mini size, so you really don't feel so guilty eating one.
I myself love quick breads. These little mini ones were so fabulous and smelled amazing
Mini quiches looked lovely
Okay, so here is the nice set up. My lovely assistant for the day had to hold open the clear plastic so I could shoot the pastry. Gotta love assistants. They are too valuable!!
The blood orange doughnut to the left is highly regarded, but I prefer the dulce de leche to the right. I would think either one would be quite heavenly.
They do have some items behind a glass counter, the more fancy desserts. Their coffee beans are from the Metropolis Coffee Company, a well known Chicago roaster.
These looked quite lovely and fluffy. There did not seem to be too many items I would not try here.
I am not sure what this is, but I would be willing to try it. For my readers, of course.
They also carry a wide range of sandwiches
Hoagies and really lovely salads as close up below. I like the idea of obtaining your food here, and go to Times Square where they have the tables and chairs. Relax, people watch and enjoy these tasty items from Caffe'Bene !!
I would highly suggest you pop in here if you are in the area and in need of some yummy food. I am told they are planning to open 50 more in New York, so some other locations would be greatly enjoyed. Their hours in Times Square are 530am to 2am.
