Christmas is the time the windows in New York City really come alive. I hope however that I have shown you thru this blog that the windows are works of art 12 months a year! These Barney's windows from 2009 were one of my favorites to celebrate 35 years of Saturday Night Live.
Saturday Night Live (SNL) is a live late-night television sketch comedy and variety show developed by Lorne Michaels and Dick Ebersol. It premiered on NBC, in the US, on October 11, 1975, under the title NBC's Saturday Night. It has produced some of the best comedic talents in the last 35 years and many movies have been made with the characters created:
the coneheads were my favorite and they were played so well by Dan Aykroyd as Beldar and Jane Curtain as Prymaat (mom and dad) - their daughter was Connie played by Laraine Newman
Steve Martin has appeared on the show many times and this was his famous King Tut sketch
one of the great creators of the show Lorne Michaels
I think everyone knows Wayne's World which was just so funny
Chris Kattan's character
love that the mom reads Vaniety Fair ....very stylish !!
Dad is on the cover of Playboy .........smoking a whole pack at once probably not a good idea!
you should rent the Coneheads movie or some classic Saturday Night Live dvd's for a peek at these great iconic characters!!
So pretty with the snow falling and all lite up .......hope you enjoyed Barney's 2009 windows!!
