Barney's department store in NYC is really one of the holiday windows that are not to be missed. Last year they had the wonderful Saturday Night Live tribute and I remember those with quite a chuckle! This year their theme, "Have a Foodie Holiday" which they partnered with Food Network, Cooking Channel (isn't that a great new channel?) and IIlly Caffe' doesn't disappoint.....let's take a look.....
I was a bit upset that Jamie Oliver and Julia Child were not done in life size forms
these windows are just so full of fun
yep, that is Mario Batali ...
the creative director of Barney's, Simon Doonan, was not familiar with any of these chefs until he started on these windows.........
Guy looks like he is having a great time! These windows begin by a sketch by Mr. Doonan
he has been designing these windows for 25 years....what a fun job! love Wolfgang and Emeril here!
you knew Paula Deen had to get in the act?
I love the Rachael Ray, Ina Garten ( is Jeffrey so lucky to get to eat all her creations!!) and Martha
loved to see a bit of Lidia as well in these displays along with Sandra Lee
Miss Illy was just amazing!!
300 three-kilo illy tins, 250 foil bags (former home to illy’s single-serve iperEspresso capsules) and 250 8.8-oz. illy cans will turn heads clear to Fifth Avenue. And does she ever accessorize, pulling off an espresso machine headpiece (ahem, illy’s Francis Francis X1 iperEspresso machine), a coffee scoop-turned earring and a garland fashioned from 300 paper cups.
my Illy cafe latte' at Broadway 49 had to be the best latte I ever came across !!
he could serve me this coffee any day of the week....so excellent!!
Hope you enjoyed the Barney's windows this year...wonder what next year will bring? Should be exciting to wait and see.........
