I had the pleasure of attending the 2010 Chocolate Show Saturday November 13th for the first time. It was quite an experience for a chocolate and baker lover! In the great area of Chelsea, it was held at the Metropolitan Pavilion at West 18th Street.
The show had more than 50 participants, including top chocolate companies, chocolatiers, award winning chefs and authors. If you could not attend this year, I would highly mark your calendars for next years show. It is a very fun time!!
The clothes really just took my breathe away. It is so amazing what these artists can do with the wonderful confection known as chocolate:

as you walked in, these dresses were there to welcome you
this dress was made by Zac Young, pastry chef for Flex Mussels and a “Top Chef: Just Desserts” contestant, worked with designer Nicole Romano to create a dress made of hand strung bonbons coated in edible glitter
this was just gorgeous and very colorful indeed

these gowns were runway ready
all made of chocolate and I just was going crazy! loove that handbag!!
another beauty....the work that goes into these dresses is unimaginable

I wished I could have shown these a bit sooner but many photos to edit and put together for you. The Chocolate Show is a real place of wonder and amazement and I would suggest it to anyone visiting the city during this time. In addition to New York and Paris, the show is now worldwide in cities such as Tokyo * Shanghai * Moscow * Madrid * Cairo * so if you are near any one of these great cities, you may want to get yourself a ticket. More to come on the chocolate show....please stay tuned!!

Great shots. These are almost too pretty to eat . . . almost.

Too pretty to eat.
Favorite chocolate is anything dark :)
I could never control myself there, not until I ate everything in sight and then dragged away dramatically. haha.
In regards to your Bendel inside photo taking question--they don't allow it. They even asked me what I was doing and it was during the press time that allowed us to shoot!!
Wow. That must have been an amazing event. I haven't been to NYC in years but that Chocolate show could definitely entice me to make a trip. Awesome photos too.
