Eloise at the Plaza....yes this is really the most adorable place. For those who are unaware of Eloise ....Kay Thompson was the author of the famous Eloise children's book series. Thompson, who lived at the Plaza Hotel in New York City, became most notable as the author of the Eloise series of children's books, which were supposedly inspired by the antics of her goddaughter Liza Minnelli, daughter of Judy Garland and film director Vincente Minnelli, but when asked if this was true responded, "I am Eloise". In February 1956 she recorded her most famous song, Eloise, and shortly thereafter capitalized on its success by launching her book series. The four books in the series, illustrated by Hilary Knight, are Eloise (1956), Eloise in Paris (1957), Eloise at Christmastime (1958) and Eloise in Moscow (1959). They follow the adventures of the precocious six-year-old girl who lives at The Plaza. All were bestsellers upon release and have been adapted into television projects. A fifth book, Eloise Takes a Bawth was released in 2002, based on a completed manuscript once slated for 1964 publication. However, at the time, Thompson blocked publication and took her other books out of print. Let's take a peek into the real Plaza.....
Let's just say that this is absolutely adorable.....get ready.....

the library area allows you to watch Eloise videos
the beauty salon is quite fun as well

Eloise herself on the wall
you can take her home as well but I think she would miss the Plaza ...and NYC !!
If I had a little girl, no doubt this would be a great place to take her. Such a fun idea and something she would remember for a lifetime. They are also having etiquette classes available.

My daughter would have LOVED this when she was younger... plus, there is the American Girl Store to visit as well! xo
American Girl is on 5th Avenue near Saks but yes quite popular with the little ones!!
This is just enchanting! What a gorgeous color pink! xoxo
This is fabulous!! I had no idea the Plaza would harbor such creative stores! Were you there early in the morning? Since they're no children in your pictures.
it was a Wednesday afternoon actually so it was a bit quiet. there was a lady there talking about a party for her daughter. The Plaza basement is something you should check out for sure!!
Adorable! I read in the Ny Times that they have an Eloise decorated hotel room that can be reserved. The price was only for the very wealthy!
